  1. ...adding AWESOME to the above...
  2. Nice...I started to make one using a different design and then decided to buy the Lee Valley. Happy with it and will probably finish the one I started...soon as the shop opens...
  3. Been a while since I had the same opportunity but in auto mechanics instead. Lots of good things in your story...your teaching about the machine before using it, your observation in his interest in construction, your acknowledging his interest in redesigning your DC system...even that he is going through with the shed project... Good for you for taking the time and getting strong results for your efforts...
  4. Nothing boring 'bout them babies...
  5. I particularly liked the white board presentation of the underlying technology...ROTFLMAO
  6. As they say in that TV show "Forged in Fire"... "Herb...this, sir, will cut"...
  7. Steve...nice workstation...but your shop is entirely too clean... How's about gettin' some sawdust thrown around for the next picture...
  8. I am just amazed at the elegance, lines and design...BEAUTIFUL...I'm sure they work as beautifully as they look... Thanks for sharing...
  9. I got notification that you were expecting a package so I went out with the big snowblower and paved the way for the delivery truck... Congratulations...gloat away...
  10. WOW...and I can't even cut a straight line with a chainsaw... ...shouldn't be allowed to look at stuff like this... OUTSTANDING...WHAT TALENT...! ! ! ! Thanks for sharing...
  11. Be grateful your name isn't Richard and belong to the Dicks of America (DOA)...
  12. If it ain't broke, don't fix it til it is...
  13. Very nice...just a quick question... If you're shooting from that rest, will the 1x behind the trigger withstand the recoil...?
  14. WOW...BEAUTIFUL...! ! ! !
  15. I use a big Irwin and an old Swanson for replicating angles. When I need to know what the angle is I use my Starret (505, I think)...it's an analog readout but can be used for many more things. I also use a template ruler for more complex cuts. Haven't made the leap to digital readout...probably won't. Whatever you buy make sure it's a big T-bevel (9, 10, 11 inches)...it will be easier to align it along one of it's axis on the piece to be cut.
  16. @Danl It also looks like the blade is dropping...can't think of another reason for the cut angle to change (from pics you posted)... When you first bring up the blade, how far above the piece are the teeth...? And does it change...? Are you taking multiple passes raising the blade higher each time...?
  17. ...then we’ll need to come up with new stuff...
  18. Rut Roh... May need some modification to the defense’s strategy...
  19. Based on the evidence you have so eloquently presented, I would submit that Ma’s on the hook for this one...
