Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

Steven, knowing your ability to create awesome items, from practically nothing, I think I see a little cabin overlooking a stream ;)

Cabin, probably but I don't think there will be a stream anytime soon in the Dungeon shop; not with snow and frozen ground:lol:

well, once i finish pard's door, well probably before i do, will begin the templates for this project,

i shamelessly took details from quite a few other tables i've seen over the years, and some of the details will come to me as i begin the final design process.

but i have a bootiful maple slab about 20'' x  6'6'' and about 2 plus inches thick, that i want to use, it will require some work and filling on one end, probably put some butterflies on it and maybe just leave open.

plan is to use, walnut or sapele for the legs and frame work to support, still unsure, but managed to rough out a idea dwg last evening, its how it works with me, out of the blue something shows up.

just got the darrel peart dwgs for his blanket chest, once i make the templates for it, will begin material selection. am excited to do these, as i'm a fan of greene and greene.

as for my console or entry table may have a little asian flare, not sure, see how it goes as i work on dwgs.

thoughts or ideas on details.

rough dwg attached, im no artist for sure.

happy monday

Looking forward to following along @knockonitRj. Interesting design. Nice contrast of wood choices. We'll need plenty of pictures during the build. Should be a fun and challenging build.

Woodsmith Magazine TV show on PBS has done several G&G inspired projects.

IIRC, the bedroom suite @Danlhas been building from his design is also G&G inspired.

One of my favorite furniture looks along with Shaker inspired.

I've long wanted to do a G&G project, but I'd like to do it in some form of mahogany, just haven't bought any yet. I do have some ebony for the little accents.

i tried to find some pictures of the barister book cases i built years ago for my office, kinda based on g and g design, but used white oak and fumed it, quite the experience fuming, took a few attempts to get it right, and of course some talking in tongues:wub:

A few years back I went to the library and had the librarian order all the G & G books available. After perusing them all I bought "Design Elements for the Workshop"

I've got Bob Lang's book of shop drawings for G&G, it has a couple of things in it I'd like to build.

Need to design a lid of some sort for it...

AFridayCleanup1.JPG.1267d69ba0c1de6539e4d0116270e5a4.JPG

That MIGHT involve a glue-up....to make 1/4" LOOK like 1/2" Ash....we'll see...end grain part might be a bit tricky...
