January 25, 20242 yr Popular Post No film tonight I've got an inch or so of standing water between me and the chop saw and drill press with what looks like 12 more hours of rain coming tonight into tomorrow. Looks like we might get a 6 hour break from 6 AM until noon before it does it again. Might just have to find those waders.
January 26, 20242 yr Popular Post Wonder if that is Banned in California? Glues done.. Box is glued to the Base..and... A frame is glued to a panel...mitered corners.. With the end grain matched up...letting sit a day...

January 26, 20242 yr Popular Post here are a couple pics of the maple slab i plan on making a console or hall table out of, so gonna have to put a couple bowties in, might do paduak, a contrasting really read, or sapale, am thinking the sapale with the ribbon type grain, will look awesome, other option is cherry, walnut, or mahogany, not sure mahogany would go well with maple due to texture. hmmmm, decisions decisions.

January 26, 20242 yr Popular Post its close to 20 inches wide, and yes, am considering epoxy pour, think, i'll set it up on a table and use a template for the base design and decide then, or.............some days depends on which direction the wind blows.
January 26, 20242 yr Popular Post Awaiting a finish. ....of some sort.. A Look under the lid? Hinges? And a few tools....
January 27, 20242 yr Popular Post @frenchwwr, that looks very similar to my first table saw. It was a saw table, without the saw, and you clamped a circular saw underneath. Locked the trigger in the on position, plugged the saw into the switch included on the saw table, and plugged the whole contraption into the nearest outlet. At that point, as the saying goes, "Bob's your uncle". This was just a "test run" to see if I was going to like woodworking. One small project for my wife, and there was no question, I was hooked. I soon realized I was committed to having my fingers still attached to my hand, and I decided to buy a proper table saw. That didn't take long, as I was taking college classes while still on active duty. When I graduated, my parents said they would buy me a table saw as a graduation present. I still have and use that Delta contractor's saw. If I had the room, I would have upgraded long ago. As I tell people, by now I have everything I need except room.
January 27, 20242 yr Popular Post one thing i do not think i've every heard a hobby wood worker say ''I HAVE ENOUGH ROOM'' I know i say the opposite, why didn't i make it 10ft longer, and 10ft wider, why oh why Rj in az
January 27, 20242 yr Popular Post I have found that when you make more room you run yourself out of it quickly.
