Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

Retirement time is on fast time I've learned Rj. Birthdays seem to roll around about 3x a year now.

well now, as soon as i figure this new camera out i'll post some pics, compadre and i hit up timber wood working in mesa, az yesterday and picked up about 70 bf of 5/4 african mahogany, he and i are gonna build him a new entry door, its going to be a ad hoc design, a little craftsman, greene and greene, and good ole yankee ideas.

once i get product aclimated to shop,we can begin,

also have a few other projects on list. time to actually begin the three hope chests i've been promising to build, they will be greene and greene tributes of a sort. three identical, but out of different material, walnut, cherry and mahogany, so we' will see.

still struggling with cnc router, my ability to design is limited, and well lets say i managed to make one heckuva dust pile. lol

happy sunday, i'll attempt pic posts later today or tomorrow,

Still cutting personalized Christmas ornaments.  Getting bored with them. Be glad when I can get back to bigger projects. Those Shopsmiths are feeling neglected.

Sorted through what was there..cleaned up most, replaced others...all are now either Irwins, or were made by Irwin..

Some of the others I was sorting through...largest was 18/16"

You had better eat yer Wheaties before you use that one..extras have their own case..

And the few Jennings bits I have hide out here..

One of the reasons the Canvas Roll has 2 eyelets.....you can hang the roll up on a wall, all opened up and ready to use..I don't have such a wall, unless this counts..

One of my ex employees had the day off and offered to assist me in retrieval of these monsters, its not often one can find olive trees, locally that aren't butchered by the arborists, i've tried for years in vain to get some of the tree removal folks to not cut up for fire wood, some of the deserts and urban trees, but they can't resist it for some reason.

any event, i managed to find these while accidentally getting on facebook market place as i was looking for a 3 d printer guy who fixes them, well the pictures will show them,

plan is to power wash them, and see then what can be done, do know of a local sawyer who has a saw mill large enough to slice these if needed.

getting them back on a trailer, will be  a chore, but can be done, yankee ingenuity allowed us to facilitate the extraction, the ole guy was exhausted (picture taker) and had to take a well earned nap after.

as soon as we have a nice warm day, i'll fire up the pressure washer and clean these monsters up and see just where to go with them.

They'd make some beautiful bowls or vases. Or, some very interesting boxes.

Holy cow @knockonit, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that!  Can you post up a pic of a mature olive tree for me to see what that looked like prior to being taken down?

WOW @knockonit...any guesstimate on what those weigh? Were they already removed?

my guess on the larger one with a partial tree trunk on it close to 800 plus pounds, the other one was easy 4-450 lbs,

the roots of the olive tree are radical, lotsa dirt and gravel tied up in them, so once i power wash i suspect a hundy or more in weight will go away,

i intended today to stop at a sawyer to ask about slicing, but ran out of time with the pick up pre scheduled at the aeroport.

they were already out of the ground, and placed hap hazardly in the gentlemans yard, he also had some of the trunk pcs that another did not pick up, i grabbed some of those also, they can be seen maybe in a couple pictures.

the log parts are large enough for me to turn some french style rollers and misc. again not sure on what i'm a gonna do with them, but ive a love affair for olive wood, so bootiful

and have to say, it took some fingering to get the darn things up in the trailer, my little winch gave out on the big one, i pushed it to the limit and think it stripped a gear, lol, so off the chinese store later this week, and grab a 9 or 12, unit, gonna have to reload to take to sawyer, if i go that route.

happy hump day,

well dug out the power washer, late yesterday, gonna try and start it today, haev to dig up some starter fluid, darn things set around with gas in them and the heat turns it to sludge, so.. there is that, so we will see.

hope to get one cleaned if all goes well, as weather today is gonna be warm, or hoping so.

happy saturday, ole gal goes and picks up the tamales she and her posse made a week or so ago, the half dozen gals made almost a 100 dozen, yum, nothing like xmas tamales.

I think that I have been remiss in posting up completed pics of my last couple projects.  In my defense, I just got the vanity pics yesterday.  It was installed last week and son put the doors on just before coming down.  So there is that...

The little vanity replaces a rather large pedestal sink that was totally out of place in this old house with a small & narrow bathroom.  The vessel sink was sourced and the vanity sized to fit.  Carried it to Ohio over Thanksgiving.  New tub and surround was installed the following week and the sink installed after that.  No plumbing for me on this one :D

I think I last showed the display cabinet off after the door glass was etched.  I'm calling this one done now.  One more project for this garage, a new workbench to incorporate a recycling spot.  I would still like to run a 220V circuit out there but that will be another day...
