Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

  • Still working on Urn, just finished glue up on top.  Will put a profile on it and sand it down then  off to finish room.   Dry fit:

What is that stuff in the jar? Just some type of oil?

It's boiled linseed oil.  I use that and paste wax on my tool handles.

What's on my bench at the moment....

Too many of these things...

I have a friend that has between 300-400 planes.  Though is "working set" is 3 or 4.    Collector vs. user.

At least all the chisels have been put back in the rack...

I thought this would be a good time to show "whats on my workbench" because I just cleaned and reorganized it. I know it don't look like the standard workbench and more like a jewelers bench. I no longer do large projects, NO ROOM. When I need a large working surface I have a piece of heavy plywood that I made to sit on top of my table saw.

Looks good Ron. If it meets your needs that's all that counts. I'm envious cause you can work in it during January. Far too cold here...gets quite expensive to heat in addition to the house, so closed about 1/2 of the year.

Ron, your bench/desk set up looks quite handy.

@Ron Altier, I have the same set up but on a steel desk.  It is never that neat.

My garage shop is attached to the house and I insulated all walls that are exposed to the cold and the door is an insulated door. It will stay around 50 degrees in there, except when it goes near zero outdoors. Kinda nice

Dan, it does look alot like my set up and about the same size work area. When the weather permits, I open the garage door around noon and the sun shines in most of the day

My primary shop is small 9 x 9' of floor space so I don't have a lot of room for clutter, or a real work bench.

Love your shop! I can relate to not much space!!

I have two other areas with larger woodworking equipment but both are unheated

WOW!!

It appears close to being fit together as is, reality is there is a ton of work yet to be done on that Kentucky rifle. A ton of fitting and finessing and finishing. I may even get some carving into the stock. :) .50 Cal she is.

I have the same thing in .45 cal. Was a fun project. If I remember correctly from so many moons ago.

Good score. Looking forward to seeing what you end up with.
