Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

Amazing the difference some quality tools will make. And when they are sharp and set right are a joy to use.

Just posted on my birthday thread. I try to spend as much time as I can resting and keeping my sanity in shop when I can.

Such a nice gesture!

When I worked at school and someone left, I made one of these. Then asked them- "Do you think you will come back here to work?"

+1 and so uniquely appropriate and honoring for the recipient.

You need to make that into a pull toy.  Kids would love it.  And, the parents would play after the children went to bed.

That is one beautiful saw.  What did you use to clean off the rust?

Thanks.  I used PB Blaster and a Scotchbrite pad to remove the surface rust.  No pitting, just left a nice patina.  The handle I sanded to about 150 and finished with BLO and paste wax.

Dear Santa,  I've been a very good boy this year. If you can spare some,, I would like a whole bunch of clamps this year for Christmas. I can't seem to find the ones you brought me last year. Signed, your friend Bandit. Ps, I left a Guinness and pretzels for you and a carrot for Rudolph. They're down in the dungeon on the workbench. Thank-you:P

And, getting it all put back together.....just needs a good sharpening, now.

I have one similar that I need to rehab. The handle is all there but cracked/broke down at the bottom kinda where the heel of your hand would be. I thought I would drill a hole straight through the crack and slide in a hickory dowel or something like that. Also give it a good sharpening....I've never sharpened one. A guy sent it to me free years ago when I bought an axe head from him.

What is that stuff in the jar? Just some type of oil?
