SWMBO has about five incubators going in the garage.  She's been hatching stuff out left and right.  Now, we have a bunch of Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks and some Guinea keets in a brooder.  They have outgrown the brooder but aee not quite big enough to go in the big coop.  Therefore.........grow out pen time!!

Not the prettiest, but it is functional and will sit on a pallet that is covered by a sheet of plywood.  Then, we will put up a fence around this hutch so they can have a run to get some exercise.

That’s pretty cool!

Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

By this time next week (I'm slow) my new/old bench will be back in service. About ready to install the lifting casters. Since I'm building out a new shop, this time, all my other work surfaces will be at the same height as the mobile bench. Should make things a bit easier to transfer work from one place to another. Easier on my old back, anyway. :D

Maybe add either a Bow Tie, or a Blue Oval to the sides?

Since my edge trimming bit is a 1/2" shanked thing..had to use the DeWalt No. 610

used both electric ones, last night..

Seemed the front and back bottom rails were too thick...DeWalt to thin them back a bit...then the round-over bit...outside corners were too narrow...used a block plane, instead..

Electric tools????   You gotta post a warning at the top before you drop pictures like that man.  Almost spewed my coffee across my screen when I saw those routers.

Electric tools have been put away, for now...Stanley No. 45 and No. 71-1/2 are back in their boxes.

Trying to decide whether to round-over the lid first...or...install the hinges first....

Hinges...Surface mount, or...mortise them in place...we'll see...

Yes. And, we're glad there was no use of fowl language. ;)

Today, I get to enjoy a couple of different woodworking tasks.  SWMBO has a few craft projects that need a little TLC, and, as long as I'm out here, why not fire up the stick burner for a Boston Butt.  Smoked with a combination of oak, sassafras and hickory.

Zippo on my workbench apart from boxes. We're packing up to move house when we find another rental.

Current landlords want to let family use the house, so out we go.

Hopefully find something soon, but the market isn't great with the virus around and people losing jobs etc.

  • Popular Post

Sorry to hear that, Steve. Hope you find a better landlord.

Keep in touch Steve.  Do hope you can find a new place in short order.

Best of luck with your search Steve, hope you come up with something quickly.

Thanks guys. I'm sure something will show up soon.

I'll be itching to get back on the tools once we're all done!
