I have a kobalt 10" sliding miter saw. It won't make the entire cut, leaving a half inch portion uncut at the heel. I have moved the fence all the way forward. I can place a sacrificial fence, but would hope I don't have to. Thanks for your help.

I am looking at a used Shop fox W1854 Drum Sander. It looks good and was told that it had very few hours on it. I have tried to research it online to check out some reviews but haven’t been able to find a lot. I intend to use this for doing the final sanding on pretty much everything flat that I build. Right now I an starting to get into making cutting and charcuterie boards. I would like to make some end grain boards but only have straight blade planer and jointer so this would make that possible. Drum sanders do not come up very often on the used tool side locally for me and as far as price goes I am pretty sure that I can get this sander for $600 maybe a little less.…

I am not in the market for a router table, I sold mine last fall, don't need one, but I just thought I'd share my amazement with what Shopsmith has available for our machines. I did not know they made a router table, very cool. Anyone own one? @Artie ? http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/rm_routertable.htm

Hello all, I have an inherited Craftsman 113 from my Grandpa, to my dad and now mine. I have restored and it works pretty great for my weekend adventures. This past week I have finally gotten fed up with stock rip fence and I am wondering what your opinions are for the Delta T3 rip fence as a replacement. Thank you.

I bought an Industrial Radial Arm Saw. Do I pull it toward me to cut wood or do I push it? It seems that if I pull it, it could ride up on top of the board. I don't want to be a casualty because of ignorance! If the blade is turning clockwise when looking at it from the left side, it seems I should push it into the wood. Help!

So here's the lodown. I bought a new Laguna 1412 bandsaw maybe a year ago and have used it lightly. Most of what I was doing was making circular cuts in wood up to about an inch but then tried my hand at resawing. My first attempts were dismal and I quickly learned a few important lessons. One of the first things I learned was my saw, equipped with the factory wheels, is easily tipped. It hasn't fallen over but it could easily happen if you're not aware. The second thing I learned is that the ceramic guides can dull a blade very quickly if you haven't set the blade correctly, both situations are the operators fault of course. So I took a hard look at every piece of litera…

About a week or so ago I was ripping a 2X4 block into a 1X2 on the table saw and was using a plastic pusher stick that came with my Bosch table saw. I really like the feel of the pusher stick as it is heavy and fits my hand. Apparently as the block was leaving the saw blade, I angled the pusher to keep it tight against the fence and the blade caught the push stick. The pusher exploded in my hand, putting a gash in my palm that required 7 stitches. The fact I am on blood thinners didn't help the situation either. It wasn't squirting ,just seeping and soaking. Later upon examining the pusher stick it looks like my assumption was right in having twisted the pusher …

I commend what Sawstop has done for safety, but not necessarily their tactics. http://www.woodworkingnetwork.com/news/woodworking-industry-news/initial-ruling-finds-bosch-reaxx-saw-violates-sawstop-patents

I have to buy a new vacuum for my workshop. I use it for general cleanup and attachment to my router table and for handheld plunge routing. My 12 year old Ridgid croaked last night.....my fault. Since I haven't bought one in all these years I don't know which manufacturers have excelled. I was considering Shop-Vac (made in USA) but Ridgid, Craftsman reviews seem to be good. I would like to max out at $100 - $150. Thank You for your suggestions.

Hello, I know that I am not the first to have this issue. I just got a Dust Deputy Deluxe Cyclone Separator Kit as a gift and have been putting it together. I have a Fein Woodworking vacuum that I want to attach it to and it seems that I need an adapter to connect it to the dust deputy. I contacted Onieda air and they gave me a link to a company that makes plumbing accessories. An email to them resulted in no reply. Has anybody else out there faced this problem? If so, how did you do it? Best to all Ron

Let me first start by saying I am not a Noob to woodworking, I am, however, a noob to setting up a dedicated Woodworkers Paradise that I may call the Woodcave. You can see my introduction here. While I will be using woodworking as therapy, my wife will be using it to get the much-requested furniture we did not have in the military due to the movers always damaging them and the claims process being less than satisfactory. I have some time yet as spring of next year is the goal to start this process, although the holiday sales can be tempting I doubt a Sawstop would go on sale, and if I did purchase, I would have it delivered to the new address. Regardless, below is a list …

Checking out the local auctions yesterday I came across this old Craftsman rotating workbench: I remember them being available many years ago, but I never had one nor do I know anyone that had one. It looks to be in good shape and might make a good addition to my son's shop who is just getting set up. Have any of you had/have one? Like it? Pluses or minuses? I did a small amount of research into it last night. Not a lot of info available. Anyone have any info to share about this?

I'm going to an auction next Saturday (Krummy, take note) in Marion, Indiana to check out a Powermatic spindle sander so I began to look at pictures of the auctioned items. It is an estate sale and the owner had some Grizzly tools but he also had a jointer and a 16" planer that were made by a company named Pratco. They sure had that Grizzly look to them but I had never heard of the name Pratco. Can anyone enlighten me?

I made a comment on a previous post, and can’t find it. Whoever started the post had made some beautiful work on the lathe, and I mentioned it made me want to try turning. Then I asked about turning tools (Shopsmith ones) and it was mentioned to me that Easy Wood Tools is a sponsor. Plus I wouldn’t have to learn how to sharpen the tools, while learning how to turn. I’ma thinking my next present to myself might be a set of Easy Wood Tools, full size. Do we have a particular person/store/enterprise we should support? Or hammer the net, looking for a best price? Any opinions, advice, or comments welcome. Thank you.

Today I was looking at new orbital sanders with the 5" round disc. They all seem to use hook and loop paper which I haven't had good luck with on a older sander, the paper just doesn't stick well. I prefer the sticky back paper with no holes, then I can cut my own discs as I need them from a roll of sheet sticky back sandpaper.

This would be a nice idea for someone living in an apartment. Easy dust control and low noise. Isn't cheap though.

Recently got the Milwaukee Right angle drill attachment The thing is GREAT~!!! I got it to help set the hidden fastener screws on my deck where I gotta reach under the rail and it's tight. The thing is a champ. It's rock solid made of steel has real bearings the handle is re-position-able and locks solidly and can be rotated. It snaps the drive nicely into place. Feels great in the hand. It's a great tool. It actually feels and performs as if it were made in the USA. Though I bet it's Taiwanese.
