According to WW Journal, the presidential overturn time for the FTC ruling. has expired and Bosch can no longer sell the their table saws in the USA. We can thank Mr. Greed (Gass) for this. The American woodworker is being deprived of the Bosch technology that would provide a safe table saw in their shop that, unlike the Saw Stop, would prevent injury without expensively damaging to their table saws and blades Bosch does plan to appeal the FTC ruling. I'm sure Mr. Gass's greed will ultimately result in more shop injuries than his Saw Stop technology will prevent.

I have seen the SawStop demonstration with the hotdog a dozen times. But I always felt that it was done under premium conditions to ensure that it worked properly with optimal results. At several of the demonstrations I had questioned the demonstrators and requested that they place the hotdog in a glove so we could see the results. My request was always denied and I was always told, “You shouldn’t wear gloves at the table saw.” Well, I live in the real world where other contractors are on my equipment, we work in extremely harsh conditions, and I can’t keep control of everyone every time they use the table saw. So, even though it is unsafe, contractors wear their gloves at the table saw all the time. That is just reality. My local cabinet hardware supplier, A&H Turf, recently became an authorized SawStop dealer and so I made the request to them and they took me up on it. This video shows how far a SawStop will drag the glove into the machine before it kicks off. I hope you enjoy my version of the SawStop test and stay safe out there;) Your friend in the shop, Todd A. Who We Are
We are a woodworking community with an emphasis on sharing and learning the skilled craft of woodworking and all of its related disciplines. Our community is open to everyone who wishes to join us. We support our American veterans and active duty, being a veteran is not a prerequisite to join. Join us now!
Of course just like most online woodworking communities we are centralized in the arts, crafts, and trades that are woodworking. But, we have another focus in our Patriot Woodworker community, we are the only woodworking community that was founded on our care and concern for our disabled veterans.
The Patriot Woodworkers are an all volunteer community, from the staff and hosts who run our online woodworking community to the members who frequent our forums, you'll find volunteers in all of us. We are not on a payroll, unless you consider the spiritual rewards gained from volunteering, as compensation.
One of the many projects we are working on is a wiki for our online community. A wiki is a great way for woodworkers and enthusiasts to share their knowledge to others, and to impart their knowledge for others to learn from, and utilize as well for their own benefit. We hope you'll consider being a wiki contributor.
