spending more time in shop, has made me realize how much i have forgotten about sequences, having made some boards stands i wondered why i was struggling with finish, and prep ect.

and well whilst roughing out some items yesterday the light came on, about my sequence of events, and well, low and behold the grey stuff many are proud of shouting about, began to work and showed me the error of my ways, now i knew better, i just forgot, ugh, how can that be, i'm an older, (key word there) and should know better, my excuse, just don't remember, so poo poo, i'm a gonna get it done anyways.

on another note, imo, on finishes, i like watco on some species, osmos on others and odies, well it just looks good, osmos i struggled with but it came together, once i fingered out a few things,

I did find i had a quart of the salad bowl finish, had no idea where it came from probably one of those many impulse buys i have on occassion, like when i got to rockler, and ''hey i need one of those'' little do i realize i already have at least one, which i never use but always intend on using, hmmmm, age or just too dang busy to deal with it

happy thursday, off to see a old client, then starting to delve into a little leather work, so gonna grab up some leather scraps to see if i can learn it a bit, then reload some special ammo for a old gift i gave myself a few years ago a 25-20 lever action, finally found some brass, so we'll see how that goes.

Done with the mesquite rounds They're installed on the Limbert legs and ready to give to the recipients on Christmas day. So, the bench is clear. Got some requests for a couple more. But, you can bet they will not be on Limbert legs. Hair pin legs this go around. That's in the future though. The templates and plans for those Limbert legs are destined for the burn pit.

We'll be building new redwood steps for the front entry this weekend. Mostly shop work. Once the shop is organized once more, the scroll saw will finally get some use.

At some point, rebuilding my bench will be done. Right now, it's a sheet of hardboard over two sheets of MDF:( It needs to be about twice as thick so I can get my Wilton vise installed.

I try to stay busy.

@Woodman - those blocks are pretty cool Jim.  And I must say, you take the notion of using scraps to a whole 'nother level :JawDrop:

Still having a difficult time getting a picture of these LED-lit items. But here it is anyway:

:P They’re multiplying

Got the idea from a friend’s daughter who wants a nightlight.  That’s a 6w LED. Too bright. Just ordered a pair of cheapies, 2watt each. Comes wired, wall 12v transformer included.

Yes, I prefer the high-end components, but there’s a time and place for budget parts.

Reworking the kitchen freed up a second Oak case that I added to my workshop. The bad thing was I lost storage space doing it. I ended up taking a couple buckets of old lamp part to the dump today.

Here's a video with everything. Mystery. Woodcrafts. A cat.

c.1820 reclaimed eastern white pine porch rafter, its innards scooped out, inexpertly reassembled into a tray, and fudged about within into it is tolerably presentable.

Cool tray Jim

Another Woodman inspired reclamation. Awesome vision Jim...in fact, purrr-fect:P

Thank you, gentlemen! :cowboy:

The specs: 40" x 4.5" x 3" • 2.42 lbs.

I'll mix up some EWP wood putty for a few inside gaps - I cobbled together strips for the base. And possibly sink a few ⅛" birch dowels through the sides into the ends, for looks and effect. Although lemonwood pegs would be nicer, like a fine hand-crafted boot.

I messed up somewheres and ended to with wider end-caps. Planed one down to fit. Plan on mixing up a spirit solution of coffee grounds to try aging the planed edges.

Creating an extraction? Or a suspension? Where's our resident scientist? :)

This was conceived as a gift to a painter. A very fine, strong slat shelf to match is wanted. To be used for extra-special canvases, rolled up, in longer storage but within sight. But the painter's daughter no longer speaks to me  :( Shucks!

And here is a picture of Saba's Jerry Hill, describing how lemonwood pegs lock together the boots they (used) to sell.
