thanks for kind suggestions, i did dry fit a trivit and am waiting on the picture to show up somewhere, i've always wondered when i send picts from my phone to my computer so i can post, where the h.... do they go, sometimes they all show up, and other times, its well come back tomorrow, and just maybe they'll show up

any hows, it seems the off fall from cutting radius on the main trivet frame , we can end up with a gaggle of smaller trivet bases, so, two for one. that doesn't happen very often, i'll post the picture if it ever shows up.

Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

At the end of the Covid guff guff and feeling about 80%. Today seemed like a good day to replace the workbench top. It was getting pretty tired.

Not sure what you use to send pics . Fastest way for me is to email to myself. Dropbox is almost as fast and sometimes faster when that email goes into cyber

8:45am, set up with plenty of scrap, me and the old Delta woke up late sleepers. A solid 2.75 hours of porch cutting. LOTS of projects, some ready to go, others not yet imagined. 3/4 bucket of sawdust later, here's the loot.

something zen about spending time on table saw, at the end you have a pile of reconstituded saw dust, that you hope you can make something out of, or a revelation comes up as well and you are off to the fabricating of STUFF.

nice pile of goods.

happy saturday

and today managed to complete at least one trivet, gave it a bath in watco natural, see how it looks later once dry, and got a gaggle more assembled, they'll need finished, probably do this evening, and the bonus is the off fall, from bases, have enough left to make a half dozen or more smaller ones.

Still love c-clamps, though. These light-duty deep throat, the seller wanted $23/pair delivered and had two pair available. I offered $10/pair for both pair delivered (4). He accepted and included a fifth. Yee-ha! :cowboy:

My shoulders hurt just thinking about it! But that would solve several cutting issues, if I began hand-resawing some of the larger timbers, just to get manageable pieces onto the table saw.

Cleared the table, finally getting to a small folding table for vending; got the frame rabbeted, will glue'er up crack of dawn. It's legs will fully fold into the base but the table may be height-challenged. Some college kid will want it next to the bed. Yes, some of them do outgrow milk crates but still want portable.

Here's the crafts output for the 'week': A pile of smiles 'll be coming my way.

The Bahcos got here today. Nice scrapers, and with the exchange rate, only $10 each delivered. Shipped perfectly burred. Medium-carbon steel, I think. Swedish steel, made in Portugal, by a French company :WonderScratch:

Cut it a little too thin. .035" according to the caliper. I pushed a hole in it. But she's hanging in there ... A freebie bonus to a Saturday buyer.

Found a couple NOS on the bottom shelf of a cluttered hardware store. Non-marked, but USA-production. 20% off.

Started cutting into this old old floor joist. Likely early 1800s. Thought it was poplar. But am now thinking ... White oak?  VERY heavy, dense wood. Ideas?

That's an instrument you start young. 10, 12, maybe 14.  A 14 year old can go from zero skill to 22 notes per second in two weeks - 120 hours of uninterrupted practice. But progressing into 'melodic banjo' style, where the real action is, requires vast amounts of brain power. You're still 3-finger picking, but there's a whole lot more fancy fretting going on.

The banjo player is the leader of his group.  Unassuming master of his craft.
