Haven't seen my shop in 2 months.  Been that busy with work.  It's insane how busy this new place is.

Word got out they hire the best.

Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

Fixing my buddy up something rustic for his smaller kill here...barnwood is from the scrap pile of the barn on his place that has been torn down. I cut about 8" off to get it more to size. Not going for extra white on this one but will give it a once over when I get a little reassembly done.

The parts for my Benjamin 392PA came in.

Benjamin1.jpg.7e1857770edc6082de4e13ca2e6b1fea.jpg

As long as I am replacing valves and tuning up, why not get rid of that ugly varnish.....

Benjamin2.jpg.66b35265a89201044397134906eab380.jpg

and "Keep Walnut Beautiful" with a new shellac finish.  Plus, I get to try out a shellac finish!

Benjamin3.jpg.852ae801d588ab5031eecdf70fde14e9.jpg

Work still in progress.  I need a few more layers of shellac and then probably a paste wax on top of it.

Sweet. Agree once you get sufficient coats of shellac applied, I'd wax too. Beautiful firearm.

With the temps in the 70s today, I might get some more resin poured on Phyl's coffee table this afternoon.  This morning though, will be more work on a scroll saw stand.

havent had as much shop time as i would like, the rain, created a jungle here, so been dealing with that, have a couple feral cats i need to deal with, traps aren't working so, other alternatives are being considered, they are leaving messes and their marks everywhere, the gave my hot rod a bath and that was the last straw. they will be dealt with, weeds weeds every where some weeds and not the good shite.

found a hole in one of my tarps covering a bunk of ash, so. off to the tarp store, then ole gal limped in the drive way with a flat, and yeah, new tire time, tires were bought for her suv a week ago, how does a wheel weight managed to get stabbed in a tire.

so, monday is tire shop day, probably have to wait for them to order one, so ugh.

thinking i might hit up a new drive thru chain, Angies lobsters and grab a po boy lobster sammy and call it a day, it is sunday the day of rest is it not,

happy days

rj in az, and yeah gonna hit maybe 70 today, shorts weather just around the corner

Hate it when that happens.;) I remember a similar day like that here. IIRC, it was last September...or maybe last June:rolleyes:

This is getting annoying. I tried to post this in "Home improvements" and when attempting to post it I was repeatedly asked to put in a title, this after rejecting the addition of pictures, giving me an ERROR 200 code.

OK, so everything is working in this forum.

My wife had a mixed/matched set of draws under the knee wall in our house that was always a mess, so she asked me to build some cabinets to go there, about six ago, "No EIGHT years!" Ok, eight years ago. So I figured she really wants them and I've put this project on hold for about as long as possible.

Appling the old time-tested law, "Happy Wife, Happy Life" I figured I better get it started, leading to another problem, "You never finish anything."

Guilty.

On the flip side of the coin, we have the man rule "I can do that for you but I'm going to need to buy a couple of tools"

She wanted 16' of cabinets, 26" out from the wall which puts the face of them a round 58"(+/-) high, intentionally put in bold because the ceiling goes one way and the floor goes the other with a nice hook down at the end. It's at least a 120 house, that wasn't maintained, with suspect workmanship bringing it up to the condition it's in, so there's a lot of give and take as to hanging the doors that might have been worked out awhile ago.

The window at the end will be trimmed out in Walnut and Butternut and I have secured assurances that it won't be painted like everything else here.

I get to start sanding tomorrow when she's gone for two days to Eastern MA. She doesn't like noise or paint fumes.
