Looked through my collection of hole saws and Forstner bits, NOPE not even close. Figures. Looks like I will be making a template on the bandsaw and then attaching it to the bottom of my plate and some router work with a pattern bit will follow. 5 times. Yeah looking forward to that. Gunny, check out the shop tip that I had posted up for @Lissa Hall awhile back here: it was about the last comment in that thread, had trouble doing the cut & paste this morning.

Upon inspection I saw why. Was pointing the hole where the chain comes out straight down. But pulling it 90 degrees toward me. So it is wearing on the hole all the time. Took that and turned it to face towards the front where I pull it to and all fixed. Minor but I hate looking for a chuck. 2nd was the oscillating sander. It developed this loping noise yesterday when doing alot of sanding on the inside of some circles I had drilled. Upon inspection I found a sliver of plywood had somehow made a new home just above the mechanism. Now getting it out required taking it all apart but once back together it worked, and no noise. I am guessing I got careless when changing out the plates and didn't clean the debris off letting that little booger inside. And finally the coffee maker died. Took that apart and a quick check showed the heating element was bad. Okay that I am not willing to fix, went to the blue borg and got a new one for $20. Problem resolved and I can now enjoy my evening tea and tomorrow my morning coffee. All is well with the world. November 29, 20205 yr Popular Post There seems to be a mess on top of my bench... 99% of all the scraps of Ash are either been resawn, or in the burn tub... Thick and thin? Thick being 1/2".... Trying to process some of the mess down...into a few small panels.. 4 done..so far....Will be a Project for December? Tray and lid parts, maybe? made a mess of the shop, too.. Had one scrap come flying back at me....hit on me stiff upper lip.. Saw blade caught it, and helicoptered back at me.....no blood, though, just bounced off...

January 13, 20215 yr Popular Post Wrapped up L'art d'un Menuisier today (The art of a craftsman, a Roubo print that I got for Xmas). I got a bunch of sheet glass from a guy that was cleaning out his dad's workshop. It is really dirty. I was working on a sheet, just cleaned both sides and was turning it to make the first cut when it just fell apart into lots of pieces. I've had luck with only about half of them not having some sort of flaw that cause them to break when moving or cutting them. Second one worked OK. Frame is just cherry with BLO. Got the mat cut & frame assembled. Now to find a good place to hang it. Edited January 13, 20215 yr by kmealy
