Steve, Thank you for all of your help this morning. Your knowledge of planes was impressive as were the results of the tuneup and instruction you gave me. Throwing effortless 1 1/2 inch even paper thin shavings was something I never thought I would ever have the pleasure of doing. Thank you again.
August 18, 20205 yr Popular Post On the workbench today, toys from some recycled 2x4, #3 SYP with lots of screw holes and knots, so low yield. But hey, it was just sitting there.

August 21, 20205 yr Popular Post Nothing on my bench but packing boxes and tape. Everything in the shop except for the Shopsmith, miter saw, grinder, and the Rigid belt/spindle sander and, air compressor has been packed. Loaded a six by ten trailer pretty well packed and ready for Tucson. Son is bringing a car hauler for the 80 gal compressor, the bench and the rest of the larger stuff. It'll all be gone soon after Labor Day. We'll be out of the house by 9/22. Edited August 21, 20205 yr by Gene Howe
August 22, 20205 yr Congratulations, Gene. That is great news. I hope you find a comfortable place soon and that it accomodates your needs for woodworking. Billy Jack, it is so good to see you posting again. And, those tables look fabulous. As someone said, we sure would like to see the finished product.

August 22, 20205 yr Popular Post Believe it or not, I recently resorted to assembling a 3 dimensional wooden puzzle. It was admittedly a bit of a challenge for my aging hands but I did succeed it in finishing it. I'll post photos when I have the opportunity. Another jewelry box, what else.

August 22, 20205 yr Popular Post Our daughter called about 3 weeks ago and said that she was moving to a new apt in Atlanta. Bigger place with more room for her sewing projects. So dad... I would like an actual sewing work desk... people have told me that these cheap Ikea drawer cabinets work well... can you make me something similar? Oh, and the wardrobe you built a few years back - can we put doors on it? So, those projects have been completed. Tall cabinet, short cabinet, desktop surface, legs for one end - I suggested how easy it would be to simply attach it to the taller cabinet, but that idea was vetoed as furniture may get moved around..., wardrobe doors; and, we helped her move. Doing that was pretty much full time for me. So now I am back onto house renovation. Started pulling up, leveling and replacing the particle board underlayment in the MBR. I want to get this part done before this coming Thursday. I am scheduled for another shot in my lower back Thursday... I seem to be plagued by poor lighting...
