April 14, 20206 yr Hey John, is that a retirement marker? Seems I recall your doing some of these (or similar) for retirements in the past. Whatever it is, please post up a pic or two when it is completed. On 3/28/2020 at 3:42 PM, Larry Buskirk said: RIVCOSUR... IIRC Larry, this might be a replica of a survey marker. Riverside County Survey maybe? The medallion is a bit small to make out the details.
April 14, 20206 yr Author Popular Post @Cal, yes a retirement post for an outgoing Surveyor. I failed to get a finish picture of this one. I wish I did because I made it from Olive wood and the color and warmth was the best I've seen in a long time. The wood was over 60 years old, just gorgeous. But here is a finish image of one in the past I did from Cherry. And yes, RIVERSIDE COUNTY SURVEY. I'm probably in the twenties somewhere for how many of these I've made. Here is the topic,

April 15, 20206 yr Popular Post The buddy called yesturday and said he may have me make the doors too. I charged him $2500 to make the boxes and now he wants me to make the doors. Because I know the guy it was more to help him make a buck, than me make a buck. Now I might do the whole job ......wait a minute I'm back in cabinet mode. If I make the doors I need to be paid to make the whole job. I think the jogb is $7500. Me think me needs $5000.... the ply is $88 a sheet for the doors.... Edited April 15, 20206 yr by BillyJack

I think I'm gonna pass. I think he's already taken the money and getting himself in a bind.

He said he was going to have his buddy who he paid to do the rendering figure out how much material was needed and I told him I already did that.. becoming to complicated....

April 16, 20206 yr Popular Post Used to have an "Aggravation Factor"....the more the aggravation, the higher the price....10% each time....someone changes something, wants a different item than the plan.....one person soon priced herself right out of the project.....should have been a 6 drawer dresser @ $20 per drawer....price soon went up to $50 per drawer....
