I put the first stake in summer 2017. 13 years it took to clear planning, environmental, right of way acquisitions and more. These major interstate projects take a looooong time to get built. By the time I pound the first stake in, the population center has grown from it's projected growth and the road is already out dated to handle the traffic it was originally engineered for. Hey, I got a job though! Evidently, foresight ain't those planner's strong suit. Ah well, to paraphrase some Prussian military big wig, no build plan survives the first shovel full of dirt.

February 15, 20206 yr Popular Post Can’t find mine right now because my daughters wounded Toyota is parked on ramps directly in front of it! Must say that I prefer woodworking to brake repairs!

I am with you that I don’t mind shoes and pads. I am less of a fan with this one because it is replacing all of the lines to the back wheels so a lot of cold concrete on my back time. We won’t talk at length about how well I fit under there! 😂
February 15, 20206 yr Popular Post Had a buddy try and replace a line on a taurus. Rusted and end up bending it up to get it to hold fluid enough each week..... He would always give you that constipated look when you would -ask about those hrakes...

February 16, 20206 yr Popular Post Maybe all of the above guys! Still fixing to save some labor $$$$ for my kids. They work for gas, insurance and parts. I install said parts whenever I can. My dad had a pit when we were growing up. Missed it when I left home.

February 16, 20206 yr Popular Post They join in on many projects, especially with the woodworking. A little less with the cars. My son has been more involved with the mechanics while the girls like to do 4H woodworking projects.

February 29, 20206 yr Popular Post Putting off for months the Sapeke is in the CV way so I started laying put the patterns off the sample. Time consuming..... Have a lot of knotty walnut I'm considering use of on a few if anybody can give me some clues to how it performed over time outside? Edited February 29, 20206 yr by BillyJack
February 29, 20206 yr Popular Post I've never used walnut for anything outdoors, but a friend built a walnut cross for a church that was posted outside and it held up well for years. I think the key is that most any wood will work outdoors if finished in an adequate/appropriate way. Most of the time that's paint, but there are some good clear finishes as well. They are more work over time (periodic renewal) but they do protect. Maybe some others will have input/direct experience with outdoor walnut, but personally I think i would keep it for some nice indoor stuff.
