I've been working on a coffee table for our den.

Drawers that I added edge banding yesterday, received a couple coats of finish.

Well, it seems like it's been months.....probably because it has been. But for my serpentine drawer project I at last have the carcase cut and now dry fit. This isn't on my work bench, more like my assembly table. When you have to sneak minutes into the shop it takes awhile to do things, between yard work, medical visits, house keeping duties you do the best you can. This was complicated by my effort to make the drawers first and the odd construction of the original piece I'm trying to copy. At the rate I'm going I should have this done by the middle of next year. BTW, the original piece had casters on it (can you spell 50s crap?) so my reproduction will also have casters. They make it about 3" taller, the one piece drawer fits in the middle and the lower compartment only has 2 doors that enclose it.

1st pass of filling, sanding and staining. I'll polish up another time or 2 next week.

Drawer fronts ready.

Need to get the handles as I'll use the faster holes to secure the front with temporary screws before securing from inside the drawer. Then will remove the screws and add the handles with the fasteners.

Considered using 3D printed handles, but think I'm going with small metal handles.

Really popped when I added the finish (Odie’s Oil). I wanted continuous grain across all but didn't have a long enough board so only two are truly continuous. Worked to get "almost match" for the others.

Working on edge banding (iron on type).

Used this new trimmer that someone here mentioned (? @John Morris ?). Much better than the plastic two-sided trimmer I had.

Also, used this 3D printed sandpaper "holder" to clean up the edges.

Hope to get through sanding and get the drawer boxes assembled this afternoon.

Ya I had the same experience, the two sided just felt too bulky and awkward, this one you have is a natural fit, thanks for reporting back Barb.

Finished up the trim work on a small (10 x 15') shed converted to a "day cabin" just enough to stay for a day or two, shelter from the rain or warm up while out for a day of snowmobiling.

We used 1x4 blue pine throughout.

Third time trying to upload photos and, I'm done. ☠️

Fitting out the underside of the lid for my Luthier's chest. I put Batman's saw in there. :)
