July 26Jul 26 Popular Post comment_379216 He was covered with a coat of dust so a mask was warranted. 🙂 I'm pretty protective of my lungs/health having seen family members suffer consequences of not doing so. Wearing my mask in the shop is typical and I am used to wearing it. Report
July 26Jul 26 Popular Post comment_379218 Not only do I wear a mask but I run a box fan with a furnace filter on the intake side when I use power equipment. Especially my table saw. It's amazing how much fine dust it collects from the shop's environment. Edited July 26Jul 26 by MrRick Report
July 26Jul 26 comment_379239 @BB1 If he does this regularly you might want to look at ArborTech. There are several models and requires much less sanding. Report

July 27Jul 27 Popular Post comment_379279 Flag progress by my husband: He worked on staining the red and blue (waterbased stain that is brushed on and then wiped off) and then painting the white (applied and then brushed off so the grain shows through). Used razor blades to keep the union area clear of the red or white. Long process but great progress. Next will be carving the stars 🇺🇸I got the drawer faces and handles installed. Report
July 28Jul 28 Popular Post comment_379288 I've been working on my den coffee table. Here's how it looks now:In this photo only the drawers have been glued. Nothing else has and is only a dry fit. Only the joinery holds it. I still have to make the top and drawer front panels. The shelf has bread board ends as will the top.Lots to do still. Never a dull moment. July 28Jul 28 comment_379314 That flag is turning out amazing, remind your husband about my earlier post, and I think very desirable. That saw stand could just as easily be in someone's kitchen way too nice for a shop stand, well done. Rick your table is going to amazing when finished, well done. Report
July 28Jul 28 Popular Post comment_379322 Got these knocked out last night. They're for the cabins, and are a test for size and spacing. The straight cuts on the outside of the hat and boot design were cut with a 2/0 blade, just too lazy to change it. 😁 Edited July 28Jul 28 by Wichman3 Report

Though I'm sure there are others that are similar. I roughly pencil sketched ideas working with my wife. She wanted this table for our Den to replace the glass topped one we have currently. She's worried our grandkids will crash through the glass. Anyways, then I drew it up in Sketchup. Then started making it. It's all made with hand tools. No screws, nails, or any metal. All joinery. I said we need to see how this turns out!I used the mitersaw station as a learning opportunity. Has been a challenge but overall enjoying seeing ot come together (including overcoming mistakes). Way better than the old kitchen table that I had bolted the saw to previously. 😉 Report
