Picked these up at auction for 10. Just not up to Bandits antics yet.

Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

With today's beautiful weathered and needing to do a lot of sanding, I built a bench outside.

Donuts and Coffee made it a great day.

Donuts always make a day better. Haven't had a cup of coffee for 414 days if I was keeping track.

A little more sanding outside today , then into the shop where I spent the day finishing up some Chip and dip boards. The are made from Wine Barrel Stave.PB031587.thumb.JPG.9cbcad583d0503241caed06dba11778f.JPG

Cool design!!

I used to make them with 3 brass drawer pulls to stabilize the staves but I ran out and had to come up with another way. This way makes it easy and gave me a reason to buy a lot of hole saws. I'm not making any money on these but I do have a nice collection. I've got my eye on a 5 1/2" one this week.

It might be cheaper for me to buy a couple of set of bowls all the same size but where's the fun in that.

A creative design and repurpose Kevin; Very cool.

Wow!  I would imagine hanging on to that stave gets a bit fun with those big hole saws!

I had my concerns also, but fortunately the curve of the staves overlapped the sides of the 2 x 6 I was using to extend the bed and locked it in.

Nice when it works out!

I think the drill press has bitten me and smacked me around more than any other machine over the years.

Made the finishing touches on the Charcuterie Boards and the Chip & Dip Boards. I also got 30 new lights matched up with 30 shades.

Bench was a bit busy...today..

KeepsakeBoxProj.Flatternow.jpg.09673e58e8090fb95300e356cd2011db.jpg

twisted boards needed to be flattened out ( note the floor?)

Other boards needed to get skinnier...

Bench vise was also a 3rd hand, today..

As I had two glue-ups to get done did...

As I was working off my other bench finishing my euro board edges getting prepped for the router,...the shop cat ended up on my work bench.

A friend asked if I could make her a "loom", at least that's what she called it. Basically, a long board with a series of dowels every 2" to hold the beginnings of a "bulky blanket". The "yarn" for these blankets is as big around as a finger, and is woven manually, so not really a loom in the usual sense.

Well, I finally got pics of the "loom" in use.

Using only two of the three sections.  Each loop is lifted, and a new loop fed through it from below. To finish the end, the last loop is fed from above. (IIRC!)

Showing off her creation. She's camera-shy!
