Gerald reacted to RustyFN in McNaughton bowl coring system.
I got mine about a month ago. I finally got a few logs to try it out on. I was very impressed. Very first core came out right at the depth I wanted. All of the bowls were the same diameter but some were deeper than others. I was able to adjust it to core the same width but not as deep. A friend of mine with the Oneway said he can’t do that with his. I heard a lot of horror stories about learning curve and problems but I thought it was very easy to use and accurate right out of the box. A friend gave me three Mamosa logs and I cored out six bowls.

to generate questions.
:slap:
they are called fault lines, and are laid on the ground, fixed in place with 3/8' diameter spikes (thus the holes), and are used to define legal shooting positions or areas for pistol matches. we also have 4 foot long ones and 2 foot long ones, as well as 3'x3' square boxes that can be placed wherever the match director or stage designer sees fit.
used for IDPA, USPSA, 2/3 gun matches, and Steel Challenge matches.
we were getting low, so they asked for 20 more 8 footers, which are actually 7'-9", so they will fit in the Conex container, which has an 8' high ceiling.

Time to post as a Project? front view
A view of them fancy feet?
A view around in back..
And one of the ends...
So...how many chisels?
Open the lid..
The entire 6 pc set from Harbor Freight.....open the drawer..
And six more smaller chisels...
Question remains...where to put this...
On top of the lid, or underneath the lid?
Hmmm..

Well, it turned out the tape wasn't as much as a problem as I though. I had a heck of a time cutting a piece small enough and then cut a hole for the screw to put it on the chuck. But when i turned the first knob and removed it, the tape stayed on the chuck, and I turned a second one using the same tape...I was thinking I would have to replace the tape for each knob. Now I'm thinking that if the tape does come off, I may try a piece of PSA sandpaper on the chuck and see if it helps. I do have another piece of maple I could use to make a second screw chuck and give it a bigger "footprint" like Dan suggested.

Finishing the JaHo on a couple bowls. Think maybe Box Elder is maybe too soft to get good cuts with the jig.
