Ok there are two more. Both Laurel Oak from the ranch. The first with beaded rim and the second natural edge. Finish is 100% Tung Oil with I think 7 or 8 coats.

Beautiful @Gerald. That salted maple one is gorgeous.

Those are all awesome, @Gerald! Your interpretation of @Steve Krumanaker's pattern is really great, too!

Lew, thanks but I want to make it very clear, that is NOT "my" pattern. While I have developed a couple of my own that one is credited to  CZT Brad Harms. I think I got the name right. With that, it IS one of my favorites and I use it often.

Thanks for nod Gerald, you did it well IMO. Isn't it a great pattern? Zentangle, turning, and pyrography are a perfect marriage of three I think.

I had just finished this 13 inch bowl when I released it from the chuck and it slipped out of my hands. It put two scuffs and one dent in the side. I'm not sure what species it is. It really made me feel upset but it can be placed in the rear on display.

You could try steaming them out.

Put a damp cloth over the ding and press it with a clothes iron. DO NOT use the steam setting on the iron. Just dry heat.

I generally use my wood burning pen with the widest tip I have to do the same thing as it concentrates the heat in a smaller area.

Even with the dings it's a nice looking bowl!

Agreed!

Can you or anyone else identify this wood? It doesn't shave off in ribbons but in small slivers almost like a powdery consistency. It cuts fairly easy though. I'll try to get a picture of the pieces I have left.

Here are some pictures of the offcuts from the bowl. It dose have a lot of the working characteristics but it doesn't have the grain patterns. It's also kinda glittery. It probably is wenge or a verity of it. Thanks for your input.
