  • Well is you like walnut I have some poor man's walnut Sweet Gum finished. It does not show in the pictures but tow of these cracked like the spokes of a wheel on the bottom. I filled with epoxy colore

  • After a bit over two weeks it is done. Doing patches and sanding was the worst part of it all. Finish is semi gloss lacquer. Bowl is magnolia. Collar may be a rosewood. Finial may be zircote . Pa

  • Shallow bowl from elm 8"+ diameter 2"+ deep. Finished with Yorkshire Grit and Hampshire Sheen.

Figured maple and canarywood, and figured maple and bloodwood. 

Pendants are 2 1/4 inch diameter.

Been kinda mixed up here and slow getting one thing done. Hope to get that cleaned up and rolling again now with possibility of new house and shop. So just before last week’s meeting I finished these two. 
 

this first was inspired by article in American Woodturner . Cherry with Watco Danish finish.

this one is sasafras with pin oak lid embellishment on a JaHo jig. Finish lacquer. Liming wax to pop grain and show off cracks.

Amazing pieces @Gerald! What tool(s) did you use for the piercings in the first one?

 

New house and shop! That has to be exciting!! Personally, after living in the same house for a little over 56 years, I dread the thought of moving:OldManSmiley:

That is done with regular drill bits. I did learn it is best to drill first and then hollow.

WOW those are NICE the tall one with the holes is absolutely my favorite. I really appeals to me i think because it is in line with most of my logic, full of holes,  or so I have been often told :WonderScratch:
