John Morris
Flippin cool as heck! That set up and size of log reminds me of the Moulthrop family turners I saw on Crafts in America awhile back, they had to hoist in blanks, what a great adventure you are on .40! Popular Post forty_caliber
I'm not at the point of selling my wares, but that may change in a couple of years. For now they are gifts for friends and family. When I was in my 20's I could have twirled that log on the end of my finger and flicked onto the sawbuck . At 60 I can still pick that log up and put it on the sawbuck with a little more difficulty. Age and a degenerative nerve condition are creeping up and in a five or 10 years, I may not be able put it there ...who knows. That doesn't mean I'm ever going to stop trying to do the things I want to do because I am way too stubborn for that. This is just planning for the future. .40 Gerald, Gene Howe, HARO50 and 3 others 4

Can only be described as unique, from a lathe that can turn a vessel a person can fit in to the hand forged tools. Especially liked the 7 rpm drying rack for 15 - 20 bowls so the epoxy finish doesn't run. .40 Cal, Grandpadave52 and John Morris

But ya, they are a cool family, like you said with their hand made tools, and their large turnings, your ingenuity reminded me of this episode. Expect to see some turnings from ya that you can fit a toddler into soon! Grandpadave52 and Cal
Masonsailor
Great idea 40. It will definitely take the strain off lifting the big blanks. Paul Grandpadave52
