Popular Post Ron Altier
Recently my iphone has been saving my photos in the heic format. This file is not accepted here. I recently had an update and it changed my settings. I finally found the setting and changed it back to jpeg. It took a while. I was sending pictures to myself and saving them as jpeg so I could use them on this site. I don't know how which file is best both look good to me. If you try to explain it to me............ keep it simple Gunny, HARO50, Cal and 2 others 2
Cal
Thanks for the heads up Ron. I have an Iphone - I will watch out for that update. Photos have been a huge problem for me with the Mac. All of my pics use to be arranged in date order - then a couple updates occurred and they were (seemingly) in alphabetical order? I mean why wouldn't April 2019 come before May 2003? Now, they just seem to be in a random scrambled order Gunny, Artie, Ron Altier and 1 other 2
Popular Post Gene Howe
HEIC...JPEG...sounds like Apples and oranges, to me. I've just learned how to operate wife's cell phone. She says it has a camera. Who knew? Artie, Gunny, HARO50 and 2 others
Ron Dudelston
I’ve not had any issue. I post from an iPad most of the time and it’s an automatic conversion. Cal

I still don't know all the crap on a flip phone. I have no interest in anything with a touch screen (wife's new phone) they don't see me. ..But I bet it would see the tree I'd be "Frisbee" style throwing it at in less than 5 minutes! Ron Altier
I read where it was changes made to iphone 10 or newer. My old iphone 6 was fine with me, until I dropped it. My daughter gave me her old iphone 10 when her employer bought his management a newer one. It took a lot for me to adjust to the simple things........not to mention the complex ones Cal, HARO50, Gunny and 1 other 2
lew
There isn't a lot of difference as far as quality. The HEIC format saves the pictures using less memory on your phone. The latest versions of Windows 10 supports the newer format. Here's what Ron did to make the changes- Cal, JimM, FrederickH and 1 other 2 1

Ron Altier
Thanks Lew, that is a good, simple explanation and it boils down to storage space. That was a problem with my old iphone 6, however with the 10, I have more storage than I'll ever use. Gunny and Cal
