She's been hatching stuff out left and right. Now, we have a bunch of Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks and some Guinea keets in a brooder. They have outgrown the brooder but aee not quite big enough to go in the big coop. Therefore.........grow out pen time!! Not the prettiest, but it is functional and will sit on a pallet that is covered by a sheet of plywood. Then, we will put up a fence around this hutch so they can have a run to get some exercise. That’s pretty cool! steven newman, Cal, Larry Buskirk and 2 others 5 Quote
Popular Post Gene Howe Posted July 13, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted July 13, 2021 By this time next week (I'm slow) my new/old bench will be back in service. About ready to install the lifting casters. Since I'm building out a new shop, this time, all my other work surfaces will be at the same height as the mobile bench. Should make things a bit easier to transfer work from one place to another. Easier on my old back, anyway. Cal, HARO50, FlGatorwood and 9 others 12 Quote

Q: Why does a chicken coop only have two doors? A: Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan. steven newman, kmealy, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 17 others 2 1 1 16 Quote

Popular Post steven newman Posted July 14, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted July 14, 2021 State of the Dungeon Shop workbench? Organized mess? When one router isn't enough.. Better make it 3... The Craftsman has a round-over bit... Since my edge trimming bit is a 1/2" shanked thing..had to use the DeWalt No. 610 used both electric ones, last night.. Seemed the front and back bottom rails were too thick...DeWalt to thin them back a bit...then the round-over bit...outside corners were too narrow...used a block plane, instead.. Popular Post Gunny Posted July 14, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted July 14, 2021 Electric tools???? You gotta post a warning at the top before you drop pictures like that man. Almost spewed my coffee across my screen when I saw those routers. steven newman, HARO50, Cal and 7 others 10 Quote

Popular Post steven newman Posted July 15, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted July 15, 2021 There now, is that better... Was digging through the "Spares Boxes"... Looking for latches, hinges, maybe a chain to hold the lid...see anything ya like? Which style to use.....? A pair of real Brass hinges, that actually match each other...where's the screws? Might just be enough screws, there... Still digging for a couple handles.....those 2 wood knobs don't count... Electric tools have been put away, for now...Stanley No. 45 and No. 71-1/2 are back in their boxes. Trying to decide whether to round-over the lid first...or...install the hinges first.... Hinges...Surface mount, or...mortise them in place...we'll see... lew, Gunny, Larry Buskirk and 7 others 10 Quote

Thad Posted July 30, 2021 Report Posted July 30, 2021 Who else has temperature problems this time of year? Currently my shop temp is...... And that's with two fans and cross ventilation from windows/doors. lew, Cal, Gerald and 5 others 2 6 Quote
Popular Post Thad Posted August 9, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted August 9, 2021 Today's workbench is outside. The temps are actually getting a little better......if you're in the shade...(0930hrs) Today, I get to enjoy a couple of different woodworking tasks. SWMBO has a few craft projects that need a little TLC, and, as long as I'm out here, why not fire up the stick burner for a Boston Butt. Smoked with a combination of oak, sassafras and hickory. p_toad, Fred W. Hargis Jr, lew and 7 others 10 Quote
1fizgig Posted August 11, 2021 Report Posted August 11, 2021 Zippo on my workbench apart from boxes. We're packing up to move house when we find another rental. Current landlords want to let family use the house, so out we go. Hopefully find something soon, but the market isn't great with the virus around and people losing jobs etc. FlGatorwood, Cal, Al B and 7 others 10 Quote
