I bought some utensil kits and turned some handles for my mom for Mother's day. It's the first time doing these kits. I need to work on my ability to repeat patterns. Lol

  • Well is you like walnut I have some poor man's walnut Sweet Gum finished. It does not show in the pictures but tow of these cracked like the spokes of a wheel on the bottom. I filled with epoxy colore

  • After a bit over two weeks it is done. Doing patches and sanding was the worst part of it all. Finish is semi gloss lacquer. Bowl is magnolia. Collar may be a rosewood. Finial may be zircote . Pa

  • Shallow bowl from elm 8"+ diameter 2"+ deep. Finished with Yorkshire Grit and Hampshire Sheen.

I got the kits from woodcraft. They are purdy sturdy.

Funny..... no odor in the ones I have turned. But my nose may be going out of business.

This particular tree doesn't have much odor at all.

A batch of mini vases for Mimi. They will get plastic flower tubes when she gives them away. Made from cherry scraps and finished with Hampshire Sheen wax.
