Great on the white sapwood in walnut, must have gotten to it right after felling.

This 9" Mulberry bowl was taken from what I thought was a burl. It may have been a branch that was damaged early or some other type of wound to the tree. The void looks dangerous, but it was pretty solid in the center.

WOW! So glad you decided to leave the natural void unfilled. Celebrate Mother Nature's artistry.

I'm with Lew, that void is awesome (the rest of it is really awesome as well ).

+3 on leaving it natural. Beautiful piece.

I almost always leave the natural voids. Someday I'll do some epoxy but I really like the natural look. I have a $200 MirrorCast epoxy kit but haven't used it yet.

Mulberry 10". These pieces of mulberry (this one and the one I posted earlier) have been laying on my garage floor for quite a while. I wanted a challenge.

Holy cow Kent, I'm speechless... :Praise::Praise:

You're a brave man Kent.  That looks nice but a was a real risk to turn it.  Not chastising since I have done it myself.
