Morning Fred This casting thing is not really unique if you think about it, digging a hole for a fence post and backfilling with cement is pretty much the same. Different shapes and filler material but really just a different kind of hole in the ground.

From a neighbor's yew bush root ball of 200+ pounds to this small urn of 6 inches. A project of passion. I learned that yew dust can be pretty nasty stuff, yet the figure in the root ball is so cool, I would likely do it again, a lot smarter and quicker.

Working on building inventory. Finished turning 7 bud vases today. Most natural edge.

Well, thing are moving at glacier speed in to old shop. Between computer assistance, network upgrades, security camera installs, turning club presentation and upcoming range hood install at my sister's new (old) house this is the only progress. (Posting to just to prove the Woodturning Forum administrator actually does have and use a lathe).

I decided to try a 3 footed base. What ever this species is, it sure is hard! When ever I get back to it, I need to finish out the space between the feet. Pretty up and reshape the feet a little. Even up the recessed bottom.

I don't think we ever doubted that.......

I think we are all only too aware of life getting in the way☹️, all good things will come to pass, hang in there.

This may get long, not on lathe and not finished. This bowl is pecan and will be textured and chameleon flake added.

Now I have been working on several designs of ring holder. Variety is the spice of life. This one is ash and experimental try to burn and add silver after wire brush. Have done larger piece but nothing this small.
