Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

If I only had a bench! :DayDreaming:

If I only had a real shop to put the bench in or at least get the tailgate down:lol:

Too cold for working on the tailgate, I moved to the living room floor. ;)

Finishing up a grinder upgrade.  Mounted to a plate that attaches to the bench on back.  To accommodate those times when you need more room to work put it on a slide out drawer with a spring lock to hold in extended position.  Used 200 lb. drawer slides. Passed my vibration and tip test, on to finishing it up with some yellow paint.

My work bench currently only has my dremel hanging beside it. My work surface (a glass patio table) is currently empty because I finally cleaned it off lol

Currently working on dry fit for dust collection to Drill Press. That and wait for paint or finish to dry on 3 other projects. LOL

I know Gerald, it's all I have for now though. I have been researching the craft for weeks now and I'll have to acquire what I need when I can.:)

I saw a new Arbortec bit called a Turbo shaft and the ball looks nice too. I have the 4 inch and the 2 inch with extension and sanding capabilities and love it.

Gerald, now I know what you mean by better tools :)

I am trying my hand at spoon carving with mainly hatchet and hand tools only. That being said, the tools shown are not really appropriate for this task. Also, I was carving a piece of firewood, not green wood which is much better for this craft. I did pick up some green Eucalyptus from a down tree pile, and I brought them home, they are perfect for spoon making. I am going to have fun with those this weekend.

I know you have seen the craft of spoon carving, you been around a long time! But for those who may not be familiar with it, here is a video on the craft. I did however have fun struggling with my dried and hard chunk of firewood, I am getting really good at controlling my hatchet. Now hopefully I'll be able to keep all my fingers during my training phase of this craft.

I love that. :)

I like that. I made a couple of jewelry boxes for a gal and she asked me how I do it. I said I lay out the rough lumber on my bench and listen to the wood as it "speaks" to me. I do that all through the process, letting it guide me. The joinery is just simple mechanics. Inlays add artistic expression to the talking figure. :OldManSmiley:

Okay, here's a picture of my bench (finally) after having made the cat tower (also attached).

Still to be tidied up, but hey, one thing at a time, right?

The lower shelf will pretty much stay mostly like it is, mainly because I don't have a dedicated shop and share with the rest of the garage ;)
