Q:  Why does a chicken coop only have two doors?   A:  Because if it had four doors, it would be a sedan.

  • Still working on Urn, just finished glue up on top.  Will put a profile on it and sand it down then  off to finish room.   Dry fit:

Looks like a bookcase or cabinet. From this angle, it's hard to tell but, that seems to be a lot of plywood under some walnut.

@John Morris...looks just like my shop right now except for the mini-lathe, the queued material, roll-around bench; Oh, and the walls!

Looks great...don't have a clue what it is or for but assume it must be some type of survey marker??

It is Gramps, but a fancier one for one of our retirees, his last day is this coming Thursday, here is the last one I built for our county surveyor's retirement a few years ago.

Your going to have to make up a dozen or so on the shelf to hold them over when you retire.

Amen to that Herb!

Very cool John.  Please post up a pic when completed.  Great build thread also, I think the additional couple inches at the bottom is an improvement.

Retired farmers get a somewhat different memento. Did you know that dried cattle dung becomes almost as hard as wood, and you can carve your initials in it? ;)
