I just saw this Delta Unisaw listed on Facebook Marketplace. It looks identical to mine and mine is a 1947 build. Great saw and the seller is asking $350. It is currently wired for 110 but that is easy to fix and you would want to upgrade the fence. For $500 you could have a heck of a saw. Located in Ft. Wayne Indiana. I love the art deco of the switch plate.

Just got a video notification from Taylor Tools showing the newly designed CMT dado set. Apparently is approved for sale in Europe where dado sets have been banned for some time. Interesting features and design. DISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation with CMT or Taylor Toolworks.

Below are two pictures of a recent "freebie" router I acquired. It seems to be in good shape. BUT: When I attempt to raise or lower the motor (twisting the large nob n the picture), nothing moves - the knob will not rotate. I can rotate the smaller/inner knob, but the motor still doesn't move. Could I be missing something - a catch or something not released? Any other ideas? Thanks for any help! Bill

I usually handle my own trailer hook up, and lighting connections, but SIL, had my pickup and my ramped trailer, and i was off top pick up a norm abrahms router table/cabt set up, gonna donate to a locale kids shop. anyhowz SIL says gotter hooked up and left in my driveway, i jumped in it and took off, a few blocks from the casa, there is a narly dip in the road, and boomba, off it came, it seems junior didn't get pin in the reciever as required, and whole ball hitch came out of truck receiver , jack ended up under truck, so in middle of street, i struggled to lift the truck a bit by hand then used one foot to shove trailer back to get the jack handle out from under the b…

Well, my well used Oasis 15 inch planer decided to rebel yesterday, was trying to smooth one side to glue up some rails for a mahogany door a pard and i are building, anyhowz, it planed a couple then decided to lock up and not move the material, finding info on the oasis itself is tough, but it is identical to the griz, and a couple others, so finally finding some detailed diagrams i may be able to rectify the situation, gonna act like a tool repair guy, instead of a end user and see if i can finger it out, either a belt or pending on what the drive gears on the rollers are, could be them, anyone have issues with similar planer, diving into the unknown, gonna…

As I mentioned in the paste wax topic my son gave some of this stuff. https://carbonmethod.com/carbon-coating-quick-kit/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyMSQrNK3gwMVHhKtBh1IygjSEAAYASAAEgIn9vD_BwE I have seen good reviews on it and my son loves it. Problem is after seeing him do it I have never been up to the task. I have never been that worried about how shiny my cast iron is but I have used his tools and the stuff is very slick and seems to stay that way for a long time. The one draw back I see is that if you need to get it off I’m not sure you can. I guess I will give it a go in the next few weeks. Paul

I have a kobalt 10" sliding miter saw. It won't make the entire cut, leaving a half inch portion uncut at the heel. I have moved the fence all the way forward. I can place a sacrificial fence, but would hope I don't have to. Thanks for your help.

My grandson, who is 8 and lives 750 miles away, loves my CNC machine and spends most of his time with me and it whenever he visits. So I figured maybe get him started with a scroll saw. I have his dad's (my son) Delta from 30 years ago here, but it needs basically the whole blade thing that extends off the arm. Now, am I better off trying to get that one fixed (and who do i call) or just buy a new cheap, I mean budget friendly, one to see if he takes to it. And if so, what would be a good beginner one? Also, is it advisable to try and find a used one?

My Ridgid oscillating spindle/belt sander just went TU. It still sands, but won't oscillate, so I believe it won't be long before it stops sanding also. I see two contenders for a replacement: a Grizzly, or a Triton offered by Rockler. After several frustrating phone calls, I have concluded that the lifetime service agreement (lsa), is only useful as a piece of toilet paper. Apparently, no one is doing warranty work on Ridgid power tools. Maybe they are replacing batteries, but I would guess that is about it. Anyway, looking for opinions on which brand I should go with. The Grizzly is $179.95, and the Triton is $259.99. I understand you get what you pay for, but …

Our PC compressor at the furniture bank blew up yesterday and we had a build session this morning. So one of the guys picked up one of these. Man, is it quiet. Several times, one of the guys went over to make sure it was still turned on. Something like 57 dB. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-4-5-Gal-Portable-Electric-Powered-Silent-Air-Compressor-3320445/305026725

A volunteer dropped the one this morning at the furniture bank and we would like to get a new base for it. It is the base, not the plastic sub-base. Home Depot lists them but they are out of stock. Ebay was also a bust. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Porter-Cable-1001-Fixed-Base-Replacement-for-100-and-690-Series-Routers-1001/203162749#overlay

My equipment is in a need of having all cast iron surface cleaned and have all the raised spots of finish or sap or whatever removed. Some surface rust also. How would you go about this? 1. get some 400 1200 1600 sand paper and with a block plain sand the surface smooth? Mineral spirits is not working to remove anything as it has dried and I am not looking for a show room finish nor perfectly sheen finish. The existing goughes will remain. 2. How about a buffing wheel with rubbing compound? Does rubbing compound has silicone in it? 3. other options?
