November 13, 20232 yr Popular Post My Ridgid oscillating spindle/belt sander just went TU. It still sands, but won't oscillate, so I believe it won't be long before it stops sanding also. I see two contenders for a replacement: a Grizzly, or a Triton offered by Rockler. After several frustrating phone calls, I have concluded that the lifetime service agreement (lsa), is only useful as a piece of toilet paper. Apparently, no one is doing warranty work on Ridgid power tools. Maybe they are replacing batteries, but I would guess that is about it. Anyway, looking for opinions on which brand I should go with. The Grizzly is $179.95, and the Triton is $259.99. I understand you get what you pay for, but I am just wondering about the basic quality of both brands. Thoughts?
November 14, 20232 yr Wen makes one, too. About the same cost as the Triton. Having never used a product from any of your choices. I can't recommend any. If/when my Rigid breaks, I'll likely just run to HD for a replacement.
November 14, 20232 yr I'm thinking a replacement Rigid might be a better option. The new models are quite a bit different from yours, though I'm not suggesting they will last longer (or even as long as yours might have). Even so, there are so many reviews that rate it better than the others I think 'd stick with them. Right now I'm waiting for my (very) old Craftsman spindle sander to croak so I can move to the Rigid.
November 14, 20232 yr Popular Post No experience with either of the models youre considering Tom. That said, I've read and seen good reviews for the Triton. Good CS plus advantage of walking into a local retailer for help if needed. Now before y'all take me out to tar and feather me, I've also read and seen great reviews for H-F Bauer model. Don't own one of those either but I do have a H-F OSS. No problems or complaints with it. I did have a coupon at the time plus I got a free flashlight. Bought it when my old Ryobi broke a belt and couldn't find a replacement belt on this planet. My $.02
