January 11, 20242 yr I usually handle my own trailer hook up, and lighting connections, but SIL, had my pickup and my ramped trailer, and i was off top pick up a norm abrahms router table/cabt set up, gonna donate to a locale kids shop. anyhowz SIL says gotter hooked up and left in my driveway, i jumped in it and took off, a few blocks from the casa, there is a narly dip in the road, and boomba, off it came, it seems junior didn't get pin in the reciever as required, and whole ball hitch came out of truck receiver , jack ended up under truck, so in middle of street, i struggled to lift the truck a bit by hand then used one foot to shove trailer back to get the jack handle out from under the bumper meanwhile three knuckleheads stood in their driveway watching me struggle, without one iota of inquirey if assistance was needed, once i gotter done, waved and thanked them for their cooperation, i will remember them well. and lesson learned, me will never not check a trailer hookup again, just made an assumption and well you all know that one. January 11, 20242 yr Popular Post Wow Ric, glad it wasn't worse than it was. Close call for sure. You kept your composure better than I would've with the "spectators." I probably wouldn't have waved...it would have been more of a single digit salute.
