When I heard it was discontinued I rushed to the local hardware and bought the last can they had...$7.99 I think. I wonder if I can get $133 for it?

No offense, but not from me:P I have a "vintage" unopened, unused can I might consider trading though.

One has to wonder why, if JPW is so popular,  they quit producing it. When JPW became scarce, I switched to Tre wax. It seems to be just as good.

Some time back Morris asked about it being discontinued since all he was seeing was the various and conflicting stuff on the web. I e mailed them and got a response that went something like it was to make room for other products in their portfolio. I copied/pasted that reply for John here, and while I'm sure my para phrase isn't that close..it's not that far off from their reply. The realist side of me thinks about my use of it. I love the stuff and use it often, yet the can I have opened is the same one I've used for maybe 7-8 years; probably not the kind of turnover you want from a product. I do agree there are alternatives, and Trewax is a good one.

I have a can of Tri but it got broken up so I bought a can of MinWax natural paste.  Seems to work well.

It’s too bad. That has been a staple of the wood shop for three generations in my family’s shops. In the day it was used all around the house for furniture etc but now days it has limited use due to all the other products. It will be missed. I purchased a product a while back called the Carbon Method but I haven’t applied it due to the hassle. It’s quite a process but my son swears by it. Might be time to use it.
