whew, ole gal and i finished unloading the last pallet of wine staves on this trip, have bundles up for sale, on facebook, sure is some knuckleheads who respond, most were pretty level headed, but had a couple come to pick up and whined about the wine stain,'' uh what'', yeah, i was sorta like deer in the headlights thingy, i gues life is crazy for some.

anyhowz, great response, i had some bundles already made up on one pallet, and thought what the heck 58 asks on facebook holy mackerel ,

anyways, happy sunday, awesome morning, waffles and bacon, mimosa to wash it down, and ole gal to share with.

I WOULD! Course it would be about getting hung, and not the condition of the rope.

been swamped since the ole gal has been gone, got a lot site issues and a few things on house squared away. did fly over to NM with a friend and spent the nite, actually was in Sante Fe for the nite, had a great dinna and met a few old pals, had forgotten we planned this, sure glad a pal reminded me last moment.

came across a PC drill press yesterday, way out in east valley, it was a steel, needs some clean up, but for half a hundy it was a steal. i took a picture but it was in poor light will share later.

did get a buncha material sized and planed for the gal to begin here next set of boards, and some other items, i touched the wood lathe with intent to begin, but got sidetracked, lol, seems to be happening a lot lately.

with the holidays coming trying to finish a few things for friends but we will see,

happy sunday

okay, been a hectic few weeks with some dental work which went south and caused all kinds of issues, problem with dust collector, took me a bit to find it, but seems when cleaning shop, i or someone else sucked up a small rag and of course, unc murphy was around to assist and one rather large pc of table saw rip managed to lodge it at the screen as it entered the turbine of dust collector, i'd noticed the ''suck'' wasn't what i expected when turning the rolling pins on lathe) so anyhowz, once i figured that out, needed to batten down tools as the ''suck'' was back.

lesson learned also, my use of the soft caulk material may not be as great as i had hoped for, i've noticed it has dried some and shrank, allowing small dust to escape, so.hhh, maybe the real ''juice" caulking may be required, i don't really wanna tape it, just incase i wanna relocate which it seems i do every few months, i figure i'm about 60% on my final layout, as my projects change i see benefits of moving equipment that works even better doing multiple different type projects.

and adding the now running cnc router, presently has a shop vac for dust control, but once i find a final position, (shoulda built shop a whole lot bigger, ugh), i think i want to  hook i up to the shop DC. see what happens,

project after Christmas is build the cabts and counter for chop saw, and finish screen door, if i could just get one day, i'd have the scren done and ready for actual screen to be installed, but seems life is getting in the way of projects.

happy saturday, off to add maybe more wood to the pile

well had a awesome craft show on sat. put a few dugats towards some things, managed to get the first base cabt, complete with drawers and figured out my blade storage, ole gal got the organizer units labeled, well new blank labels are on it, and managed to clean out the stuff to begin second phase of the miter saw stand, first unit was about 48 long, then we'll have a 24 inch wide with a 32inch pop out for the chop saw, then another 40 inch cabt on end up against the lathes, and then we'll see how it goes. on the first base unit gonna drop a dust line down to toe kick and make a sweeper spot, probably figure out how to collect the dust on chop saw, hate the shop vac so dang loud.

gonna try and fab the base cabt tomorrow and begin cutting all the drawer pcs, have full heavy duty full extention guides, top will be a layer of 3/4 particle with a laminate finish, uppers will be basically just shelves, of coures the option may change, lol, depends how motivated i get.

been playing with the 3 d printers and lasers, making some items for the cnc, to cover gantry line ect, too many fires not enough hands,

happy monday, cool weather due rest of week, ugh.

Great progess Rj. Nicely done for the blade storage. Gives me a couple needed ideas.

  • Author

wished its been my idea but was perusing the interwebs and came across an old video, i like the idea of the drawer, eventually will cull out the older blades that once dull will go in the ''maybe make a knife stack'', while i sold all my grizzley knife making tools, i can still make due if  i set my mine to it.

today gonna try and get other base unit done, and begin drawer fab, really need to get a gaggle done so i can get shop back in shape, have everything misplaced to do this, and with moving the cnc, to another wall, have to figure out the dust pick up, extend the main system or go with a vac, vacs are so loud, while i'm almost deaf, i kinda wanna keep some hearing ability. lol.

see whut happens today, with the call for rain, be a good day to hide out in shop, happy tuesday,

gonna go in early am and help a friend put up some accessories in their new home, stop off at tractor supply and get some chicken scratch fer my quail, and rabbits, hehe, gotta keepm fat in case i need to eat'm one never knows.

few pics of the days rewards. got the dust collection on cnc squared away, whoa is that awesome hardly any dust gets away now. got the cabt base done and installed. and got printer making trolley guards to keep wheels a tad cleaner, long print says almost 8 hours, its at about 55% what you see, making some other items also on the other two printers, long story on why i have three, lol

happy tuesday

Whew, busy day Rj. You need a project manager to keep track of all the different disciplines you've got going. Definitely not in a rut doing repetitive work. Looking forward to seeing the 3D covers in place.

haha, i went to install drawers yesterday, and well for some reason i'd put drawer guides on backwards, well lets say it was an honest mistake, put the main mount on the drawer in lieu of the carcass, not sure how that happened, but easy fix, the printers have been taking up some time, learning a new thing is a hard one for me, technology and i struggle somewhat, i have to get in the''zone'' to get focused to remember all the moves to make stuff ''work''.

plan was to spend day in shop, but that may change, motivation has left the theater, hope if gets back in

boy howdy, i just knew when the ole gal convinced me to lop off 10 ft of length of the new shop, i'd regret it, but she shammed me into doing it, now i have a chance to buy almost 400 bf of awesome walnut, in 4/4 surfaced , and 8/4 rough, some book matched pieces, for half of what the local vendors are getting right at 7 bucks a bf, so. .not having a safe from the weather location to store, ugh, may have to pray to the wood storage fairies and figure out how to double stack, wave a wand oh my, hate passing on a deal. let me see,

hate it when i find i made a mistake many moons ago. ugh

happy thursday

Would short term storage in a storage unit be a feasible option? Any friends or family have unused storage or garage space available? Anyone in your area rent or lease 20' shipping/cargo containers?

gonna try and bribe fella down street, he has an empty garage bay, and if the seller will hold a few days, i may be able to do some re organizing of a couple storage areas to make something work, see whut happens in next few days,

thanks

Don't be too hard on her RJ, from my experience, had the 10' been on already it would be full and you would still be 10' shy...:o
