well here is the shop, daughter #2 showed me how, my my its so simple, lol, hope i don't forget how.

pic one is from south side, you can see the re  located chop saw, gonna build base cabinets in length of about 10 ft and a few uppers above.

#2 is from in front of lathes, you can see the baker racks we use for parts and drying racks. also above the clean room (8x20) you can see the mezanine where i store a lot of exotic lumber.

#3, is a shot from table saw to rear door, orange cabinet holds a mini mill, and to the left you can hardly see is a grill covering a metal lathe, ( i dable making old, old gun parts)

#4 corner where the band saws, drill presses, you can see a groove jig , this one i got right, worked out.

#5  shot from by the orange cabinet  jointer, 15 inch planer and table sw in pictures

#6 see old router table attached to a mech box, its gonna go away later this week, and general work space,

#7  The new router able, hope to have up and running later this week

I purchased a couple filters today, gonna have to build a secondary filter box for my mini split heads, i just happen to look at the factory filters, meager at best, and well after a couple weeks, ugly stuff, once i get the big dust collection system up i suspect a lot of this will go away, but as i'm a slow to get itr done, i can whip up a couple temp holders for these filters for time being, at grab a buncha the dust prior to getting to unit

those tall racks look like the ones we used to use in food service (yeah, i know, that wasn't the point of the pictures) :ChinScratch:

Yeah, use them for drying boards and other pcs when she oils them, she generally does a dozen or so boards at a time, spritzes them on one rack, lets them dry then re sands them and oils them then set them on rack to dry overnite, and next day she waxes the snot out of them, and she does brand them before she oils them, and also use a couple for storing smalls, and stuff, being on wheels its easy to move around,

and can adjust height with the big trays being movable.

happy sunday. might be a shop day

one of my guys had a short day so had him help me adjust lights in shop, got dust collection lines thru wall to mech room and just about have all drops done, struggling with the remote start for the collector, have a company hopefully letting me know what they have to offer or i gotta do some wiring and switching so i don't have to run out to mech room, wished i'd thought about that when i built the place, but i did add the mech room after the fact, lol. hindsight baby, always right.

have to round up some fitting for the mech room side to hook up 4'' hoses to the big arse collector, and see i will need one more gate for the drop to the table saw, planer and jointer, gonna put a three way on it, trying to decide if i do a couple gates or three will see when i make drop, i may move stuff again.

and did arrange me patio a bit, so i can move the sliding table saw at least off my house patio to shop patio, and decide how to get it to fit in shop.

decisions, i'll get some pics up tomorrow, big nite out on the town, hehehe, fish fry baby, all you can eat, just no beer allowed,

happy friday, glad i'm still here

So had a short day for one of my guys, so we worked in shop for a bit and got the balance of the main dust drops done, still have to do the one at table saw, jointer and planer, finally fingered out how i'd like to do, so probably tomorrow, also got the two air cleaners up on rafter bottom chords and up and running, hopefully helps with dust on the mini splits heads, i've yet to finish a prefilter i came up with, hope to have the two done by weekend, we will see.

happy tuesday

Great progress Rj. Very clean installation of your piping. Just curious, are your shop walls 8' or 9'?

I'm guessing 2 of the air cleaners will significantly help the mini-split coil. Look forward to your reviews on the Wen models.

Love the follow along RJ, thanks for doing this for us!

did 10 ft wall height, open bottom chord trusses

so far one can tell air cleaning is working, no airborne dust in sunlight first thing in am, of course that changes as the dust creator begins making it. lol

also making a pre filter for top of the air intake on the mini heads, hope to finish this up today, ,maybe, slow start ,fixed the ole gal some breakfast, as shes gonna need it for sanding today, lol, glad she likes to do it, i just do the final hand sanding and checking out finish before she drops'm in the oil.

my only regret on shop is she managed to convince me i didn't need that extra ten feet .hehehe, boy do i,  but i did leave a framed 8x8 opening in the east wall just in case i decided to add on you know thinking forward

lol, the day did not go as planned, seems like lately a whole lotta stuff gets in the way.

SIL borrowed my car hauler, a day or so ago, he leaves it attached to his truck out in front of his house, (nice hood for sure) anyway goes out this am and its gone ,didn't lock to truck or use the wheel locks in the tool box on trailer.

hes a late riser, so it scewed up my day, trailer had a locator on it, and was found in a couple hours. west side phoenix, seems the boys from south of the border needed a trailer to haul crap to mexihole.

anyways, that took most of am, cops were a pia,

did get some expoxy filling in a couple boards for the ole gal, she did get some sanding done, i decided to start work on one of the work trucks instead of working in shop, one of the trucks the transmission cable came apart, new one's not here yet, but one has to take apart part of the steering column to get it re installed and removed, so, hopefully it shows up by end of day and odark thirty i'll throw it in , well hoping i will.

did grab 2 tons of gravel in my dump trailer gotta fill the mini grand canyon from the rain storm, SIL was supposed to assist, but appears i'm gonna be a lone ranger on that one, usual tactics by him, lol

trick is to not expect much and one won't be disappointed .

sure like my ac unit, keep it at about 80degrees, ole gal says she was comfy, i was out in the heat, that crawling under a truck just is not fun anymore

happy saturday

well now, got wrong cable for truck fix, gonna head over in a bit and pick up a new toy, pictures to follow, just gotta figure out where to put in shop, i need an addition i think, lol

need a couple more tons of gravel to fill in some washouts, and contactor showed up for the dust collector system, had to up the amperage and design, hopefully this one works.

gotta hit up the chinee store and grab a couple tarps, seems the sun has eaten some on my lumber stack, really need to empty a container and make room to store in side, been selling stuff like a fire sale, but still short on space.

happy monday, pics to come in a bit on new toy, to me anyways, it will have a huge learning curve for a guy that knows nada about techy stuff.

and here is the big behemoth dust collector 4hp, not a pc of 5'' flex hose to be found locally, to finalize hook up, got the new contactor and remote to work, and gonna have to give everyone foot weights to hold down, whew does it suck

i put this outside in a seperate room from shop, so i didn't have to hear the air compressor and the DC>  i have a high and low vent in ext wall with furnace type filters to attempt to keep dust storms out.

am happy with what it does so far.
