I'm cleaning up and getting the cobwebs out. Been awhile since I shared my shop. 😊

I’d like to say that I haven’t had a chance to clean up but it always seems to be in some sort of disarray. I made sure everything is on wheels as I’m still working on the layout.

Watch the videos below for some entertainment at my expense. Yes, this was my recent shop space. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, I actually used it. Lastly, I spent a lot of time organizing it and getting everything to fit perfectly. It's a Tetris masterpiece! In short, have a good laugh, but be kind!

Probably the biggest time saver of anything for the water being that close. These bottles are still with me since we built this shop in 1999 and just think of all the steps and time I saved over those years and finally put in a sink and a potty in the newest shop... sink runs out to water a large honey suckle next to shop but did run the potty to the septic system which I put in all by myself... And I understand lots of states is charging lots bucks for things a home owner could do much cheaper.. But this is the third shop I have personally built and every time I started on another I did have a list of wanted thing to save me time and make life easier, and for next …

I was perusing a Facebook group for Blacksmith Shops around the world, and just like any trade/hobby, you have purists, the in-between's, and the moderns. This fellow is a purist where the only electricity used in the shop is for his ceiling lamp. What I found fascinating about this mans blacksmith shop, is he talks about the reason he chose a dirt floor for his shop. And it makes sense, man was made to walk on dirt, and he states that this floor is much easier on his feet and body. And there are other benefits as well, like a dropped piece of sandwich, just crush it into the dirt! One of the drawbacks is, he may sometimes drop wax coated iron o…

Finally moving into a new shop. I am moving out of the small blue building into the large building with the red roof. It is going to be a long process but well worth it.

Hi Everyone, in November of 2021 I purchased a small piece of land that had a 30’ by 70’ shop on it. It’s going to be half my shop and the other my living quarters. Nothing fancy.

When we first moved into this house the garage was going to be a temporary shop location but the longer we live here the more obvious it becomes that this is going to be my shop. I put together a very quick and easy lumber rack but it is not going to cut it on a long term basis. So I decided to play hooky today on the media room and begin the process of building a proper lumber rack. I have a lot of 1 3/4” tubing left over from building the car port so I thought using it up would be a good plan. Not sure if it will work out but I’m going to give it a try. If it doesn’t work out I can still use the verticals and make some of the usual wooden shelf brackets. The tubing is a…
