September 23, 20241 yr Popular Post John, the Ford truck manuals brought back good memories of the old, slightly used truck you purchased. I hope it is still running and getting you around the neighborhood. Danl Â

Danl  It is still in great shape Dan! Actually I gave it a good wash and wax last week and she runs even better now I've used that truck for a lot of hauling and moving since I've had it, still running like a champ!

Now, whatcha' going to make next? Hey gramps! Thanks! I still love my bench, don't know if you remember but it came from a WWII veteran woodworker after he passed, his widow gifted it to me. When he returned back to his home in San Diego after the war, he got a job as an industrial arts teacher at one of the local high schools, focusing on woodworking, so he was a shop teacher until he retired. That bench has a ton of good vibes in it! Going to start dabbling in Blacksmithing so I picked up that beginner anvil awhile back, it's a small anvil by most smithing standards, it weighs 66lbs. Most anvils used by serious hobbyist and professionals weigh in around 150lbs to 300lbs. When we move to our forever home I plan on having two areas in my shop, one for woodworking and an outdoor/partially indoor portion for my new found blacksmith interests. As far as making anything next? Just home maintenance Gramps, getting the home ready for sale! Â Great to have ya back again Gramps, hope you are feeling great these days with that big ol stone out of your body! Prayed for ya and looks like all our prayers were answered.

Prayed for ya and looks like all our prayers were answered. Thanks John. Each day is a little better. Still navigating some new norms for now but able to do basic things and personal care. Not much H.P. right now though; get tired very easily. Doctor and my daily care team tell me while the surgery was major enough coming back from the minor stroke will take longer. I'm blessed to have no long term effects or damage from it. I'm thankful for yours and everyone here prayers. Believe me they were (are) felt and have carried me through this temporary set back. The most amazing thing is the back pain I've experienced and attributed to my back surgery 3+ years ago is gone. Life is good.

Cleaning up aint too bad, most of my work (when I do work!) generates shavings instead of sawdust so I just brush the bench off and sweep the floor. If I do end up with sawdust, I blow it all out the back garage door with my compressor in about a minute, the benefits of a small and simple shop, easy to clean, even with my clutter, it's pretty easy.

I seem to have trouble keeping for focused for any duration right now, but that is being attributed more to the lingering effects of the anesthesia. Â Actually I feel pretty decent except for the physical exhaustion part. I'm beginning to wonder if some of that might be attributed in part to adapting to the new daily Rx's. Tried picking up some sticks etc yesterday from the storm. No ball of fire doing so but felt sorta good just to do something although it plum tuckered me out. Day at a time. Just thankful to be here. Thanks for asking John.
