The local resale store proprietor sometimes texts me when there is something that might interest me. I got one of those texts last week and stopped by to find that she had a little transitional plane for me to look at. I have had a general rule to not buy a lot of transitional planes but this little guy just spoke to me so a rule was broken once again! Nothing too unusual here, just a nice little transitional smoother. HSB Revonoc marked on the toe so Conover Hardware Co. and it has a 92 patent Stanley iron in it. The iron has been well sharpened, about 3/4 of the wat worn to the keyhole. Aside from wiping off the dust, is in nice overall condition with minimal rust. I intend to spruce it up a bit in time but thought I would share a few pics as I got it. 10 bucks damage on this one.

A wonderful project, I highly recommend anyone to build these chairs, suitable for most skill levels. The weaving in this seat was considerably more challenging than the square stools I weaved. The trapezoidal shape of the seat created some interesting challenges, but I got through them.- 4 comments

Once I weave the seat into the chair, it will be striking, I am very happy with this project.- 3 comments

I love the patina this chair gained during the finishing, the cherry just got deeper, richer and thick. I love the tone. -

The side view looks just as good as the front view, I am happy with the results thus far.- 6 comments

I dry fit the chair together and checked for fit, mortises, tenons, racking, and square, it all lined up beautifully.-

After each chair piece has been sanded to 600 on the lathe, I pick up a handful of shavings and push them onto the piece while it's spinning at max RPM. An instant sheen or glow appears, I enjoy this final touch before I pull it from the centers.- 3 comments
