I made this little jig to help me sharpen my router bits. I have hand tremors, so this little jig (hopefully) will help me get them sharp without ruining them. It’s made from mostly plywood and pine. The dremel tool can be raised or lowered. I put a knob on the back to hold the dremel in the position I want/need. The tool on the table of the jig is a 1950’ish router bit holder. It was made for this purpose, but it was to sharpen the bit while still in the router. I found it on eBay. It is adjustable to change the angle. I only sharpened one bit with it so far and it seemed to work well. All the wood is scraps from my “burn bucket”.

I saw this on the web. A homemade chisel hone. I thing you could set this up at the proper angle and put curved tracks for the wheels to turn allowing you to hone a gouge to the proper angle all the way around the gouge. Do you think it could work?

Picked this this afternoon... Hey,,for $5, might as well try... At first glance, you'd think it was a Stanley..... Not! Made in India, an Anant A4, Stanley knock-off. A-yep, this will take awhile..... Strange place to stick a label.....There IS a bolt down in that hole...the wrong one of course. As soon as I can rustle up some GOOD batteries for the camera, I'll go and open the Rehab Shop......will TRY to be done by suppertime. Will post results here...do you want a "blow by blow" account, or just the final results?

I think I might have a couple of plane like objects about dialed in Stanley#70, in Push Mode. It will work in Pull mode as well. Next up Scioto Works #8 Coffin Smoother. Might just have that old Ohio Tool Co. Auburn Ny iron just about right. Next up, a home-built thing Traditional Chinese Jack plane, but 18" long. I changed it to a double iron. Still a work in progress. Has a knob out front right now. May loose that as i go along. Next a Stanley Type 19 #5-1/2 Jumbo Jack. Trying it out, to see IF I need to work on the edge. Hmmm, maybe..Next A Millers Falls #9 Type 4. It will need a bit of work, wore it down a bit on the Tool Chest #2 build. I think I have two more of these, so I might just do all three of them at once. Right now, the workbench is set up to sharpen a few backsaws. So, the sharpening will have to wait a bit.
