December 30, 2025Dec 30 comment_367965 That's a huge gouge, biggest I've ever had is 5/8" and I've honestly never gotten comfortable with it. About all I use anymore is a 3/8" Thompson. Report

January 2Jan 2 comment_368135 Nice action . I have a Thompson 3/4 and I swept the wings back a good bit more to almost an Ellsworth grind. I love it for heavy work But lately my 3/8 bowl gouge does most of my work. Smaller stuff. Report

About all I use anymore is a 3/8" Thompson.I think it is even bigger than it looks. My friend has a Thompson 3/4” bowl gouge. This Crown is quite a bit bigger. The flute is 3/4” and the bar is 1-1/8” diameter. Report
