@Grandpadave52 The reason for all that "info" on safety with new tool booklet is they are afraid some moron either has already done some of that stupid stuff or may do so in the future. Like dont use this electric tool in the bathtub.....DUH.

Box bladed our road this morning and moved a couple loads of dirt to the new 100 yard berm. Brought up more of that firewood in the bottom. Finally got holes drilled in Mantle to mount it and applied stain. I would say finish goes on tomorrow but going back into the woods for that other deer.

Pretty much a low key weekend. After church services yesterday we enjoyed our annual Christmas carry-in lunch. Good food and fellowship but not as well attended as in the past.   Week ahead:

So true. Back in the very early 1970's John Deere lost a court case when an one-eyed idiot sued them over lack of safety warnings in the operators manual for a push mower. Seems one-eyed jack bought a new 19" push mower then he and his neighbor decided it would work great to trim the hedge between their properties. So, they fired it up, lifted the mower by its wheels and proceeded to top off the hedge. All fun and games until an eye gets put out, hence the name "one-eyed Jack."

I have one of those mowers with the revised owners manual. Thankfully it has a picture drawing of things not to do with the mower, one of which is trimming your hedges, or perhaps I might have attempted such a task.:Punched:

Fortunately he hasn't screwed any bolts into my neck yet.

Rearranging continues in my shop. The casters on the massive wood storage came in handy!!

The scheduled minisplit install didn't happen as apparently the installer had a truck issue. Disappointing as I really want this complete before the weather turns again. Thankfully warm here this week.

Started on a garage cabinet. Used the track saw to cut parts from 4x8 plywood. Was cruising along, cutting oversize and trimming at the tablesaw. Couple pieces were a bit awkward so decided to cut to final with my track saw. Unfortunately my carefully cut pieces were short (although at a nice clean 90). Finally figured out that I had lined up my track on the waste side of my line so I lost the width of my saw kerf. Could have adjusted other pieces but the snowball effect was too much so I just got out a new sheet and did it right. Sigh...still cannot believe I made that error! Hoping to use the mistake pieces in another part of the project.

Those of us who suffer from forms of dyslexia feel your pain. Every measurement needs to be triple checked. A 38 1/2" measurement can easily become 37 1/2" when you are seeing things backwards.

Experience is a wonderful thing; it lets you recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Had a nice visit with Bob AKA @DuckSoup last week.  Patti was busy in her new kitchen and sent me a nice big sample of her Christmas cookies.  I've been enjoying them few each day since.  My phone quit sending pictures to my computer but I finally found I could send myself an email with the picture.  No picture didn't happen.  Thanks Bob and Patti.

Yep, measured three times, cut it twice and it was still too short. :WonderScratch:

Christmas shopping 2025 has officially concluded. OTH, car still needs unloaded; that extra 6 seconds of daylight didn't go as far as I thought it would.

Actually did it twice- two separate pieces - before my light bulb moment. 🙄 Hope to never repeat!!

Glad you enjoyed them & I enjoyed the visit. Thanks for the walnut, I'll put it to good use. Merry Christmas!

Working on the cabinet to store the bike buggy for our dog. Measured and rechecked, and the section for the buggy just fits with a little wriggle room (see arrows).

I need to add a face frame and am wondering if I can cheat a bit on the side so the face frame is pretty much flush with the inner edge (hinges will be on the opposite side). I would make the door so I would have sufficient overlap...although as I picture this, I may need to then go wide to the outside with the face frame. Hmmm...need time think some more.
