Some tools, because of their shape, can be difficult to sharpen. Here's a novel approach that seems to work pretty good!

Too often, when I put a chunk of wood on the lathe, I'm really not sure exactly what I'll end up with. This short video can help with planning the outcome.

Same here, they get mad if I watch them at work when we are waiting for parts.   :throbbinghead:

Thanks, Lew.  Another worthy post.

Some more good info.  Thanks Lew.  Watched the sharpening video.  Was more on using the hook tool.  Often wondered how hard the learning curve is on one of those.

@AndrewBThanks! Looking forward to seeing the finished shop!

@Masonsailor Thank You, Paul!

@Gerald Thanks!

@Gunny Thank You!

@FlGatorwood Thanks, Steve!

@HandyDan Thank You! I have not used a hook tool, myself and wondered how they could be sharpened. I do have a "Scorp" and think this might be the way to sharpen it.

Yea its been a long 4 years coming to get that thing cleared out and cleaned up...  Cant wait to get it done.
