Managed to get the drawers installed yesterday. Now I can focus on the ceiling and get the blanks out of the shop.  Paul

I’m continuing on with the ceiling. It’s slow going but I’m getting there. I’m a little over half done at this point. This is about as boring as it gets.  Paul

We are continuing with the ceiling tiles as much as we can. The black walnut that we bought locally is turning out to be very nice stuff. I bought this all in the rough so I no idea what it would look

Man warp speed here.  As compared to mine which could best be described as Glacial.   :)

That is an old chest of drawers my wife has been toting around for 40 years. I think it belonged to her grandmother.

I was thinking of a trip we had to your area when I mentioned the heat problem and yours could get even worse.

We use to go to Vegas maybe two or three times a year, or less but only one time in July or August and we already live in the hot Texas area but that trip was so hot our chips melted before we could get to the next casino. And as we were leaving the RV park just north of Circus Circus that morning someone said its 114 and only 10 in the morning..

Paul, that grain is awesome.  And you did an awesome job of fitting that all together.  I can hardly wait to see the final product.  It seems only yesterday, that you did the other one you pictured earlier.

I think Gunny has a good point about how quickly you and Steve Newman build complex projects.  Do you have the Energizer bunny there somewhere?

The speed is just a product of having done it for years where I was usually under time constraints. For many years I was tasked with completing an entire interior, cabinets, doors and sometimes even the windows and the expectation was I would have them completed when my brother brought the project to drywall. We would usually tackle the built ins like stairs together. All these houses were in Carmel and Pebble Beach so all the work was expected to be very high end. My wife and sister in law were the ones doing most of the designing and feeding me plans. They both got very good at understanding the limitations of the machinery in the shop and designing the work within those limitations. In the early years we would build a four car garage first and then move the shop into it so the machinery was reasonable portable. Later we established a permanent shop with larger stationary equipment. This is the last house for my wife and I.

Finished off all the partitions etc for the upper unit. That is all the build in place components for that piece. The rest is shop stuff so I am moving on to the ceiling this weekend. My goal is to have all the components of the room that involve woodworking in the room completed next week. I don’t know if it’s possible but I will give it the effort. Unfortunately the wife jumped the gun on the furniture for the room and it will be delivered a week from today. Hopefully she can stall it if necessary.

Awesome! Did you have any difficulty locating the walnut veneer plywood?

The only parts that are ply is the 1/4” backing for the lower unit which the local supplier carried in black walnut. Everything else is solid black walnut.

Not a lot of woodworking today. I did manage to get the corner corbels made and also with the help of a couple of friends hung up an air filtration unit.

The ceiling is divided up into a 10X10 panel system so there are 100 LED panels.  So a lot of wire !

Today was finish up the wiring loom and start on the soffits. What Gunny didn’t realize is that he was only looking at half the wiring yesterday! But the rough wiring is in and now we can proceed on to the rest of the woodworking.

The last time I've seen anything on this scale was a local casino. This is going to be real nice Paul.
