Yes, I had to remove some of it to make it fit through the bandsaw.  Thank you both for your kind words.  My intent was to show what a Shopsmith can do.  I was trying to help MaDeuce with acquiring some power tools that may launch her into a more advanced woodworking set.

Could you make a short list of tools you are looking for in particular? 

 

In recent months I have come across, for free:

 

1. Delta scroll saw, guy said it did not cut.  It had no blade.  I am not kidding.  Installed blade and it worked fine.

2.Reciprocating saw, had  kink in the cord, was broken inside. $6 heavy duty end, worked fine.

3.Craftsman bandsaw, old 3 wheel, guy said always threw blades.  Put a good blade on, set the guides and tension, worked fine.

4.Dewalt jigsaw, nothing wrong with it, was in back of a van I cleaned out for someone to sell.

 

Lots more but I fix stuff and people always ask do you have, so you never know.

Yeah, some of these people are the smartest people you will meet.  Common sense wise they are dumber than a rock though.  Always amazes me.  They will drop by work and ask can you do this or that.  I drop by, 15-20 minutes job and done.  With basic tools.  Last night after work I installed a outlet with USB ports.  Guy gives me $50.  AND he bought the outlet.  Told him too much, he tells me if he had done it the house would have burned down.  

 

On the way out he asks can I take away this "junk wood".  Four 1 x 6 x 8 oak boards.  Sure no problem.

Man, did you get a deal, there Woodbutcherbynight.  The wood is worth more than he offered and then you can re-gift it for a profit or something useful to yourself and family.  Also, I am so happy you helped that poor man who said the machine didn't work.  Keep up the great work.

Its easier to list what I do have... I have a circular saw, two hand planes, a Dremel, and my pyrography machine

You definitely can't go wrong with the Bosch tools.Whether you like the overhand grip or the barrel grip, the JS470 reconditioned saws are a real steal at the price.Never a problem with their recon tools.

Hello, Al.  It is good to see that you are still here.  Thank you again for generously sharing your book with me those many years ago.  I purchased my own copy and made all my patterns to size.  This is the second box of this pattern that I have made.  This is my worst.  I have some jerkiness of my right hand, the dominant one.  But, the woman was so happy to have it and loved it.  The tree grew in her yard, so that makes it more special for her.  If you need copies of the patterns, just let me know.  I'll be very happy to send you copies.  I have made a few of my own designs, but these of Louis Keener Ventura always are well received.

Apparently it was... The coroner says 38-year old Kristoffer Staler was trying to use a homemade wood burner when it electrocuted him.

Sad under any circumstance but even more so just before Christmas.
