That would be a wonderful time too, seems the central US is the best place to host these. You all live there!

What a great day for all of you.  Wish I could have been there even though I had a great day at my family reunion.

Ah, all you had to do was gas up the PW jet.   You'd have been there before the drivers.  :P

I am thrilled to see it is in the skilled hands of someone who will use it.  Doesn't get any better.

Thanks for the pictures, Steve and Ron. Looks like a wonderful first annual TPW get together. Really sorry to miss it. Maybe next year.

Well made it home and finally getting a chance to respond...

First & most importantly a special, heart felt Thank-you to Fred & Mrs. Hargis. Without Fred's vision, and their thoughtful and gracious hospitality as hosts, today's event would not have been possible. You both are awesome hosts and just down-right great people.

Next a Thank-you to our GREAT sponsors of this site, Laguna, Woodcraft & Easy Wood Tools for the gifts they provided for everyone in attendance as well as @Jim from Easy Wood Tools for the EWT detailer as one of the drawing gifts. The support each of you provide for this site and the members is truly appreciated and made this event even more special.

Thanks to @John Morris @John Moody @Ron Dudelston for your support, encouragement and extra efforts not only on a daily basis but for today's event. Without all, ya'll (did I use it right Mr. Moody), there would be no Patriot Woodworker.

A big THANK-YOU to @HandyDan for sharing your work by providing everyone with one of your prized pens with bases. And if that wasn't enough, your over the top generosity donation of the Woodcraft, Wood River hand plane. Kudos my friend...while you weren't physically there, your spirit certainly was.

To @steven newman for bringing some of his prized "toys" and demonstrating his prowess in the art of and pleasure of using hand tools. Even when he had "the day off" he still had to create a pile of whisper thin plane shavings...the guy never rests.

Finally, THANKS to everyone who brought food & treats; ....it made a great day even better.

I won thanks to Mrs. IrishWoodCarver pulling my ticket - now, now - before anyone yells FIX, there were 7 other witnesses that can attest to it being fair - lol)

If it will give any credibility "Irish", I'll vouch as a witness the drawing was fair & square.

We never did find out what @Ron Dudelston was going to use the $20/ticket he charged to enter the drawing though.

Well, several of you beat me to the punch on the pics and Handydan's generosity. I'll try to get my photos organized later toady and post them. But It was truly a delight meeting so many folks, and an honor to have them in my shop. The weather could have been a little better (we wound up with about .3" of rain) but it still worked out pretty well. I especially want to thank Handydan, both for the donation of the very nice plane (which Newman had functioning before he left) and the lovely pen sets he donated for all the guests. What a wonderful gesture. I'm not even sore about Bob getting the EZ wood detailer (though I would have liked to have it). But I still think it was rigged rofl.gif. I sincerely hope everyone had as good a time as I did, despite the long drive for most of you. Somehow, even though it wasn't a strenuous day (other than trying to keep track of the dog), I was pooped after everyone left......and it was a great feeling!

That's a great looking shop Fred!  Glad to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves.

And it is good to be able to place a face with a name.
