August 27, 20187 yr Author Popular Post Well, with all the pics the others provided, I'm not sure I have anything to add (picture wise). But I do want to take a moment to take the others who helped with. Already mentioned earlier was the stuff the site sponsors provided....I even think Dudelson got rid of all the Woodcraft shopping bags he had!. But also to the member who brought stuff....Ducksoup had his trunk absolutely full of cookies his wonderful wife had baked, along with the coffee from Dunkin Donuts. I have to admit I hd never liked their coffee, but what he brought was very, very, good! Also Ron, Keith, and Louann (I'm certain Bob had nothing to do with the salad she brought) for the slaw salads. As you can see in one of the pics, we had plenty of food. For those who actaually believe this is a donut forum, all of the ones we had here didn't get eaten! Anyway, here's just a few of the pics I have. There are so many other I'll just post a few: You can see Dudelson is a little baffled by Newman's expertise with a 45: But that didn't stop him from explaining it to others : There was plenty of food, could have used some more people: Same with the gifts: Well, as I said...I hope everyone truly thought it was a worthwhile trip. It was an enjoyable experience for me! Edited August 27, 20187 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr

August 27, 20187 yr Popular Post Nice surprise for me today. @Grandpadave52 sent some wood back to town with @DuckSoup for me. I was hoping for a few logs since Bob had to put it in his trunk. Turns out there was enough Mulberry, a few pieces of Apple and Plum to fill the dump bet on my buggy. Bob also gifted me a couple of 18" long drill bits he had extras of. I'll be good to go when I want to drill some lamp blanks for the wire. As if that weren't enough, @Ron Dudelston sent me a swag bag with Bob also. You guys are the greatest. Thanks to all of you, I will enjoy these things immensely. Dan
August 27, 20187 yr Popular Post Small tokens of appreciation Dan for all the gifts you provided. Enjoy the Mulberry..hope it turns out well...no pun (oh alright there is) intended. ...and yes, Bob is a great all around guy plus being the "runner"
August 28, 20187 yr Author I had no idea he got that much wood into his car, should keep you busy for a least a day or two!

Dave I was glad to make the delivery, it gave me a chance to spend some time with Dan and tour his shop. I believe he has mastered the art of tool making. I was surprised by how small his metal lathes were and what he has made to adapt to his wood turning needs. Awesome. He also gifted my wife with some beautiful pens & a cherry candle holder. Thanks Dan.

Maybe Dan can tutor me on using the 9 inch South Bend I received from my uncle - going to be looking into classes or something once I retire.
