Then, laid out the corrected mortise..:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.correctedlayout.jpg.db248e589611d6c53a158250f3bb8253.jpg

Made one pass with the hammer and chisel..

LinenClosetDoor3MON.1stpass.jpg.c3460e7988db6a267c8cf48580ab4725.jpg

Clean out the chips..check the depth, pare down until just over 1/4" deep....try a dry fit...:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.dryfit.jpg.5574c39258900a0bcbdedfd2cd782324.jpg

Used that flush cut saw to fine tune the fit, a bit...:OldManSmiley:

Next task..had 2 raised panels to "adjust" to fit the grooves a bit better..:Cheer:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.holddownclamps.jpg.5f1eb6c75df4c32b21b2473204829afb.jpg

My system of hold downs.. That Craftsman #3720 to peel a few layers off..:MachineGun:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.rebateplane.jpg.1e704b10471d37aa611ffbc9db7f8e32.jpg

Rotate until all 4 edges fit into the grooves...:Cheer:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.testingthefit.jpg.b1acc2ed0c6319b3cd64d964f4ddffb2.jpg

LinenClosetDoor3MON.smoother3.jpg.50bbf009e963fda4eb7c4da520f57618.jpg

A No. 3 smoother...That knot tried to fall out..we have ways..

LinenClosetDoor3MON.wasloose.jpg.2caad2d4370523e61c42285adea9a46d.jpg

Got both Raised panels done...then tried a dry fit of today's 90 minute shop time...:KooKooClock:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.3dryfits.jpg.5a750c2a6647273c855cc447f3659772.jpg

I think that will be just enough, for one day?   Next time IN the shop?:WonderScratch:

LinenClosetDoor3MON.Tomorrowstask.jpg.676ad459aa8a01ed2fc10f9862e9a9cb.jpg

Will be to half lap the Lock Rail through here...with a miter joint in each corner to match the rest of the corners...:OldManSmiley:

Which means I will need to tear this and the other dry fitted assemblies apart..:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetDoor3SUN.afewdryfits.jpg.99d02c941fbd4a84e4295782ab1b6644.jpg

And this top rail will need a mortise cut and chopped...:ChinScratch:

Stay tuned...:cowboy:

LinenClosetDoor3WEDS.Miteradjuster.jpg.920a1b941328c62539a8db7a8e50f15f.jpg

Then cut the miters...not going down all the way?  Hmmmm, run 2nd half through 1/8" higher with the depth of cut..then see how the miters line up...:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetDoor3WEDS.Miterslinedup.jpg.e9a72cf70a8d06a1d5565d987ba93481.jpg

It's refreshing to see my bench is not the only one that ends up a happy home for every tool I've got at the end of the day. :D

FinishingRoomDoor4repaired.jpg.47a4df47280679d5f9bb78335f8fc017.jpg

So..now Door #4 is awaiting the Finishing Room...but, right now?

FinishingRoomDoor3WitchsBrewStained.jpg.1d5c2ab37b61642f0a20ce658e21ca1c.jpg

Door #3 is currently drying it's coat of Witch's Brew Stain...

Then Door #4 can come over and get stained..later today?

Once these 4 doors are installed...they are supposed to be in this  order...

Door #2....Door #1

Door#4...Door #3

There is to be a Strip of Ash set between the upper and Lower pairs of doors...

stay tuned...
