As the "old" doors were looking rather bad..:(

LinenClosetRehabdoorsandTheWall.jpg.198eea077fdf70f65ea912bab7e5d19c.jpg

Flat, plywood panels...someone had tried to make a bifold out of the bottom 2...hinges are junk...jambs are chewed up...and these do not match the rest of the cabinets in the Bathroom..:OldManSmiley:

So..Moose & Squirrel Delivery LTD dropped of page #1 of The Plan...

LinenClosetThePlanroughdraft.jpg.490354f8d82c0d36465384a69797062e.jpg

For one of the 2 bottom doors,,,details..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetThePlandetails.jpg.f772e58ead9ad720afeb9118c83355c8.jpg

Going with Raised Panels...for a Frame & Panel Door....since the main doors to the Bathroom ....:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetRehabBathroomdoor.jpg.8cab12ab238774f4cc5d84c3fa0d2c45.jpg

Are also 4 panel Frame & Panel doors:ChinScratch:

Decided to at least mill the raised panels first...from a pair of 7/8" x 9-3/4 x 61" planks..:JawDrop:

LinenClosetThePlanpanelstock.jpg.ca46902726549178eb4d5f0f20330f1d.jpg

Need 16 raised panels, for all 4 doors:OldManSmiley:

Means I had to haul those two 1 x 10s to the shop..and cut both down to 30" lengths..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetRaisepanels1stcrosscut.jpg.9b443c40c7486b54b6caec3042a6ee28.jpg

Circular saw tried...but, between holding the saw and support 31" of cut-off...we can do better..:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetRaisepanelsbettercrosscut.jpg.ac0879e87232834287b7f813ee1e2529.jpg

Then trim the nasty stuff off the bad ends..:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetRaisepanelsneedstrimmed.jpg.ae57c769597619587f6f36a2a376c2ee.jpg

Handsome, isn't he? :DevilLaughing:  next..I needed to rip these 4 slabs down a bit..

Quote

:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetRaisepanelsrippedforwidth.jpg.f777598df8b26bf51a66d843ed4dcad9.jpg

Then run the cut-off through, as both were tapered a bit..stack these aside for a bit..:Tapping:

LinenClosetRaisepanels8rips.jpg.6df66fceed0a016aaca8315d586ce3b2.jpg

While I reset the saw...need to cut these exactly in the center...:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetRaisepanelscrosscutblanks.jpg.eb62d9fe46d29a3879132285b0bf057c.jpg

And stack these aside for a bit..:Tapping:

LinenClosetRaisepanels16blanks.jpg.31f7945d8ec08c3490df49e05cdade50.jpg

Live edge MIGHT still get used, we'll see.    Reset the saw quite a bit..:JawDrop:

LinenClosetRaisepanelsbevelset.jpg.4f52cc2a6912730a6367a9b0f68c6f09.jpg

Raised the blade all the way up, lay the Zero Clearance Overly over the blade...tilt the blade 15 degrees...add the rip fence at 1/2" away from where the blade comes up through...make sure the fence is square..we are able ready?:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetRaisepanelsafterthecut.jpg.de391fb30a5a328621a563c5bfaf889e.jpg

Stand each blank vertically on an end, run the blank through, rotate 90 degrees, run a long edge through ( straight through, do not pause nor slow down,,you will get burn marks:OldManSmiley:) rotate, run the other end through, and finally..run the other long edge through..repeat the above 15 times..:Cheer:

LinenClosetRaisepanels16done.jpg.6f1949308be96b32236f59c2baa2198f.jpg

And wind up with 16 Raised Panels...which will get a rebate all the way around on the "inside" face...:OldManSmiley:

Next up? :ChinScratch:  Stiles...hauled 2 planks to the shop, trimmed the bad ends until each plank was 45" long...then, rip right down the center..:Cheer:

LinenClosetLumberSupply4stiles.jpg.edc196727b98442a9bc5b68bcf39f2d8.jpg

And wind up with 4 stiles...clamped up to keep them as flat as I can...will be part of a Road Trip...taking them and 6 other planks to a Friend of mine's Barn...where he has a 12" Delta Lunch Box Planer...as all of them are way too thick...need all to be planed down to 3/4" thick...

We have work to do..:Cheer:

Page #2...:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetdoorcornerjointdetails.jpg.bde3408d3fa186613132c14b50e67c06.jpg

And, I am waiting on Page #3...:Tapping:

Stay tuned..:cowboy:

LinenClosetBeadwork3rails.jpg.2b2efdb4c7a38a2864249aea14b35ced.jpg

3/4" x 5" x 19"...set those aside, for now...

What was left...needed a wee bit of work...:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetBeadworkfirstrip.jpg.fb8e4de612bbaf6d69de5acec1179118.jpg

Getting rid of the barky stuff..two blanks worth..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetBeadworkneedsanotherrip.jpg.f3df0c7ad54f33cbb31936efbcaf8fb2.jpg

Final width was just under 3" when done...:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetBeadworkPartisparts.jpg.f14d374f406978eac0346b00ed09cfb7.jpg

These 2 are to be the center stiles...cleared the bench, and jigged up to mill a few beads..:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetBeadwork1stbeaddone.jpg.3c870f40e0b41f2aaa74ead785011077.jpg

Stanley No.45, with the #23 Bead cutter...each edge gets a bead..:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetBeadwork2beadsdone.jpg.3ebfd821fe2d59964525dcc9eec1eb38.jpg

The 5" wide rails also get beaded..

LinenClosetBeadworkagainstthegrain.jpg.57e78fae1d8066073ba23f854cf575d5.jpg

LinenClosetBeadworktomorrowschores.jpg.dbffcedd59338762718886d0dda90bf7.jpg

May have to jig up a different way to hold these stiles......may set up over on the tablesaw?   Once I get it cleaned off...:Tapping:

When the beads are all milled, then I can start on a bit of joinery?:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetBeadworkcornerdetails.jpg.13c6b874348506f92e8a63f85c315473.jpg

Mitered Half Laps...should be "Fun" to do...?:JawDrop:

Tablesaw?   Tablesaw??:JawDrop:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsoutofservice.jpg.fa305918e68101bf7f9bb59ff223f262.jpg

Bandsaw wasn't much cleaner....we have ways..

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsFramesaw18in..jpg.368c769719508ce59cb3f7b5fd50d670.jpg

As the Miter Box & Saw weren't set up to cut all the way down....this will have to do, today...4 stiles needed cross cut for final length..:Cheer:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsfollowthatline.jpg.586db5b995bf6a9141609bc6a75ad7d7.jpg

Had 2 teeth that needed "stoned", as they were grabby in the cut....I also rubbed the blade with the candle a bit...:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapssquarecut.jpg.914802148610a07c71b086686a48f1e3.jpg

Seemed to do just fine.   These were the easy things...next...

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapssettingtheangle.jpg.39ae7775d56e249edb2a3e8c54a033fa.jpg

Needed to make this cut..on each end of 2 stiles..:Cheer:

Frame saw to make that cut..then into the vise for a minute..:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsshooting.jpg.e4e278bd88a30e4be080de67049686a8.jpg

Smoothed out the rough saw marks...then some lay out work..

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapswastelaidout.jpg.1eb992455e558710e01bb1d6ef456583.jpg

Using that marking gauge...then, make a stopped cut..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsmitreboxsaw.jpg.03f4337209c412f9e02fc1584b24cd81.jpg

Down to the layout lines...:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsstoppedcut.jpg.86b0b9141fd7a4138f7ddb9136f4eb1d.jpg

Then stand this up in the end vise..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsripcut.jpg.4e2915e53e65933f211b245af0341fb4.jpg

And saw until I reached the "stop cut"...:Cheer:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapscompleted.jpg.ef6820893fa017390978edfff5aa1c2c.jpg

And catch the waste when it pops off..wide chisel the pare where the plane can not reach..:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapsparingchisel.jpg.84f65ca2abd402ce2fb3b860a14e6878.jpg

Busy bench?  Plane also acting as a smoother..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetStilesHalfLapssmoother.jpg.78cc5a3def7ae0e7b18f5fc78bc962a9.jpg

A few rough spots to clean up...repeat the above 3 times..:SaluteandRun:

Next cuts were a bit easier to do, once I did a bit of math...:JawDrop:

LinenClosetsundaywork63degrees.jpg.46169cdc960b1fe2b1249e7e5d32caed.jpg

Other cuts were at 63 degrees..so..I can set the Miter box to 27 degrees..:WonderScratch:

LinenClosetRailsanglefound.jpg.19d3bd56e45018d03e3f5cf3305b5aef.jpg

When in doubt, use the cut off..:DevilLaughing:

LinenClosetRailsanglefinder.jpg.19e9c2c37252324711c036f1db8a0265.jpg

Since there isn't a "Lock out tab" I have to hold things in place, until after the cut gets going....:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetRailshalflapdone.jpg.dc48a7389fa4d1a954a8df8ebfb1c1ab.jpg

Fun part was getting rid of the waste...Frame saw wanted to wiggle a bit too much...so..:SaluteandRun:

LinenClosetsundayworkCardioWorkout.jpg.3e39290305e957049af96989ec188229.jpg

Once this big guy gets started cutting...does not take very long,,,was trying to use as much of the 28" long saw blade as I could..that shelf with the plane...was clean before the saw got going...took very little work with a chisel. to clean things up..

LinenClosetsundayworkcleanedup.jpg.1aef12e97f6bcec67374332defd41ea6.jpg

Set up a router table to mill grooves..:JawDrop:

LinenClosetsundayworkfirstgrooves.jpg.00c6aab066c34d5536a34eb7becca49f.jpg

This turned out to be just a test piece...needed a second fence and a Start and a STOP! mark..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetsundayworkstarthere.jpg.f383ffbd5cd069375c6b85b61c9c25ef.jpg

Because, I did not want the grooves to run all the way through..

LinenClosetsundayworkRailsgrooved.jpg.fb026f0b10fcf04a3c9533a29c4ad076.jpg

As they would show..:OldManSmiley: As for that Router Table?

LinenClosetsundayworkBDRouter.jpg.c7b1ecd3f8466075e246a5a4d913ef51.jpg

That is B&D's Clone of a DeWalt No. 610....all metal, with a 1/4" collet...:OldManSmiley:

That brings things up to date for Sunday...stay tuned, as I worked 90 minutes IN the shop today...too!:JawDrop:

Ok..this first photo will be a bit FUZZY....taking photos without a tripod just don't work all that well:PullingHair:

LinenClosetdoorbuildframedryfit.jpg.27658475e9955e40352bc2384c4a8322.jpg

I tried a dry fit of the outside door frame parts...seemed to fit up well enough....until I started checking the interior parts...stiles and rail..did not fit...so

LinenClosetDoorbuildnewpartsmade.jpg.5eee4ced1b4fd86fa5770f7b3d620165.jpg

The center Stiles were too narrow..cut 2 new ones the correct width...and length...needed and extra 1/2" to account for two 1/4" tenons...the center rail?  was TOO wide..ripped a new one to correct width and again the correct length...remember this photo?

LinenClosetBeadworkmeetingarail.jpg.3f5495dbfc9b80a96e7e6852793c852b.jpg

well, I needed to add a1/4" more for a tenon.  On each end...

Ok. THAT was out of the way, for a bit...Raised Panels...need a rebate milled all the way around...

Set up the tablesaw..

LinenClosetDoorbuildFirstcutsrebates.jpg.fa2bd8374b4d92f405756c657fbdd391.jpg

And make a 3/8" deep cut on all 4 sides..times 16 panels..then reset the saw and..

LinenClosetDoorbuildrebatesdone.jpg.b7507a66b9b6bb7a5be75629e377af81.jpg

And remove the waste...

set 4 aside for a bit.

.LinenClosetDoorbuildquittingtime.jpg.4c7860e4afc4b616e57a8f7a997a35e9.jpg

Router table to mill the grooves into the Long Stiles...as for the "NEW & Improved" parts..they got a bead detail..

LinenClosetDoorbuildMorebeads.jpg.15bd25f6079a7c9be8a4923b195a5163.jpg

So, was a busy day...today?

LinenClosetDoorbuildbusyday.jpg.859adb93298e31fce632eba2da7cea7d.jpg

Yeah, you could say that...

LinenClosetTues.WorkTenonsmilled.jpg.e771e98412e13411ba10012a204419f6.jpg

Since all the grooves have been milled..needed a few tenons milled..then...

LinenClosetTues.Workmiterslaidout.jpg.12675f12e32d1eb67801b0284a649c30.jpg

Mark out for the miter cuts...:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetTues.WorkTenonscut.jpg.22762386ab1c8da86cbcb34e6dd89550.jpg

LinenClosetTues.WorkMortiselaidout.jpg.9fe263a17d0cf900a665ef8cdc6e39b8.jpg

Then use the Mortise gauge to lay out the Mortise..:OldManSmiley:

LinenClosetTues.Workalmostthere.jpg.689fd2ff2a3ac883a338201261de4141.jpg

LinenClosetTues.Worktestfit1.jpg.21b2c9545a9a96183e4ee8120a82315a.jpg

Yesterday..Got all 4 Raised panels fitted into the grooves...

LinenClosetPanelcleaningneededthinned.jpg.cccf039e286b49439862581285b28fde.jpg

LinenClosetPanelcleaningtestfit.jpg.6ed5bc119809dfc48d9f1574b9ce5bce.jpg

The #78 was set up for across the grain...Craftsman #3720 was for with the grain..:OldManSmiley:

Then the rough sawn inside face was planed smooth..:ChinScratch:

LinenClosetPanelcleaningsmooththeroughdown.jpg.10d7b191c10bb4e212f771aaeb834250.jpg

Then flip over...:Cheer:
