    I burned my left ring finger yesterday when some super glue leaked onto my glove.  When the glue went off the temperature inside the glove caused a large  1st degree burn covering most of the pad from

    ECM/PCM didn't fix the Buick not that surprised me any. Guess they're gonna throw an engine wiring harness at it next.   No matter I guess. At 9:35P, tested + for Covid cooties so I'm ground

  • Thanks Fred.  While helping our son & new bride this summer do some electrical work, there was one switch that we never did figure out what it controlled.  It was live, and in a bank of three swit

:ChinScratch: ... Acts like a Throttle Position Sensor? Stumbles just off idle?

TPS would affect more than one cylinder. :ChinScratch: in theory.

I haven't got to where I'm going with this. The stumble just off idle is simply a clue.

If it's what I'm thinking they're totally looking in the wrong direction.

Has been my experience limited as it is. Not that it dismisses TPS, but the throttle body was pretty darn clean for year and miles. The "stumble" is a definite miss. Old as I am, I could detect it by ear and feel out the left tailpipe.

Is the stumble just off idle, when you press the gas to go?

Thanks Larry for your phone call this afternoon with the suggestions and possibilities. Hope my raspy, ragged voice was not a distraction. IDK if we solved the Buick problem, but I think we effectly covered other problems and pretty sure we didn't add to any world problems:ChinScratch:

Oh, best watch for COVID cooties the next few days just in case some escaped through the phone;)

It was nice conversing with you Dave, these crazy Canbus systems can really make you :PullingHair:.

It's strange how one systems control module can affect the performance of another system, that in theory it shouldn't be able to do. Intermittant failures are the worst in that a borderline failing part doesn't trigger a DTC that identifies that part, but triggers a DTC that sends you looking for a problem in the wrong system.

@Gunny

Didn't make a whole lot of sense to me but, the neighbors "new" 2005 Express van which had been in a sandwhich wreck would flicker the Stabilatrak light. When it would trigger the light the van would go into a"Limp Mode" type symptom with a bad stumble when you'd press the gas pedal to go. We got a code for the passengers side front Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS), so replaced it. Cleared up most of the problem, but would still on occasion do it's "Limp Mode" type symptom. and would also misfire at 45-50 MPH. Checked again for codes but nothing. Ordered both another WSS, and TPS. Replaced the drivers front WSS (Which was showing no code but the easiest to replace).

He's been driving it now for 2-3 weeks, and the problem is gone!
